  • Yet another head high tackle put on report...

Tigers vs Broncos, Shoulder charge, Shoulder makes contact with the tigers head, Tiger goes down drops the ball.

    Ref calls the bronco over

Bronco: "What was wrong with that??"

Ref: "Ill tell you whats wrong with it, Your shoulder made contact with his head"

Tigers were jumping around begging for a penalty..they must have forgotten about 2010.

    Isnt it funny.....

that the commentators are talking about suspensions for the hit by Teo, Frank Pritchard was also suspended yet when JWH was hit the same way by Dwyer in the SF in 2010 it was apparently the hit of the year

What's the big deal. There are clear differences in the two. JWH came down to the tackle.

and if it was dwyer coming down and JWH hit him in the face with his shoulder would you put money on it that it wouldnt be a penalty?

Agenda-driven refereeing aside, it shouldn't be a penalty in either case when JWH's head was that low

But you see people fall into tackles all the time, and when there head is hit by a forearm its a penalty, Whether or not it SHOULD be isnt the point, the point is contact to the head is not allowed, JWH dropped the ball due to a shoulder charge to the FACE.

People get slapped in the face and its a penalty, in a normal round of footy the ref would have given us the penalty.

Doesn't matter. Law is black and white, doesn't take into account if you're falling, contact with the head equates to a penalty, always*.

*Except if the Roosters are the victims. In which case, see "Hit of the Year."

Whatched that game this morning and I gotta the say Tigers are terrible no wonder their 1 from 6. A decent team would've beat Brisbane, Tigers are the chokers of the NRL.

What rubbish eh? I thought the score line did not reflect the game. I hope they drop next week too, they may have lost yet another forward with Chris Heighinton suspected broken hand.

Your right, Phil Gould kept on going on about how good they were and how great their defence was, but I thought Brisbane attack was pretty poor to be honest. If the Tigers really wanted it they would've won.

Some comments to make here ...

As Bansai put it so well, souffs "are the truth this year" as much as it pains me to say it.
Just on the penalty count, I believe the boncos were also on the end of a lopsided one too.

                            In response to ...

The point is not JWH's head position, the point is that dwyer led with his shoulder (as te'o and pritchard did) and contact with the head was made - PENALTY all day every day unless of course the player concussed is a Rooster.

What I found even more ineterssting was how Gould was trying to pick Lockyers brains about what things the Broncos do He must have asked 3 questions last night about Broncos and how they do or handle certain situations No doubt he was hoping to gain some advantage for Penrith when they play them Lockyer is going to need to learn quixck to brush thse questions aside
