  • That Pommy bastard -the Inflictor.

    Have got to say he is playing the best footy of his career over there ...There is sensibility in playing the game then trying to kill blokes .Coach Robbo has to take note Rads is a great footballer and play him that way with his footy brain.
    Better than that other souffs bloke..Andrew Johns love child ...when he wants to be.
    One of my faves .
    Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

      I hope Victor is enjoying the World Cup because giving up a State Of Origin jersey-and yes he would have been picked in the future- is a big big call.

      Really he is about as much a pom as Semi Radradra was a Aussie. I guess the eligibility rules are what they are but it should be for the second tier teams-not to strengthen Australia,NZ or England

        If I'm honest, your comment is a bit like saying my daughter isn't Australian / Italian because she lives in Japan and doesn't speak English or Italian. She's a citizen of all 3 countries and has a right to celebrate all 3. Further if she lived with me in Australia and spoke no Japanese, everybody would say she looks Asian.

        Not trying to be a tool but IMO no rule can encapsulate 'the heart'. If my daughter grows up to be a gun sprinter (for example) and chooses to run for Australia then I'd be really disappointed if I heard people saying 'she isn't Australian, she grew up in Japan and doesn't even speak English'. I know you're not saying that and am not offended or anything, but as a father of multinational kids (son could very realistically be Vietnam's top sprinter the way he's going), I really don't think it's about where you're born or where you grow up. When two adult have children, family's in their DNA.

        My only real gripe is that Greg Inglis ran amok by playing for QLD, which forced Origin to setup a strict eligibility criteria (which has, for example, deprived Keary of the opportunity to play for QLD). IMO they should consider allowing dual nationals to play Origin.

          I wouldn't say he is playing his best footy of his career though.

          His level of footy has actually declined since 2019 - Injuries (ACL and concussions) and onfield ( sin bins and suspensions) and of field discipline issues have stalled his career the past 3 years.

          Agree though that he has to be a smarter footy player rather than just be known for whacking opposition players in tackles.- Need more from him in offence for sure.

          Does anyone know if any of his brothers played or play league - I think he has an older brother and 2 younger brothers

            In 2021 if not for suspension he would have been selected and played SOO as game 1 was approved as one of his suspension games. Not sure that his form warranted being selected in the NSW SOO squad for game 2 this year though

            Both Radley and Walker could play for England/Great Britain- Radley because his Father was born in England (B) and Walker because he was born in England (A)

            (ii) A Player is eligible to play an International Match for:

            A) The Nation in which he/she was born;
            B) The Nation in which either of his/her Parents was born;
            C) The Nation in which either of his/her grandparents was born;
            D) The Nation which is his/her principal place of Residence;

            Radley is more Pom than you realise as Radley is eligible for UK citizenship by descent (His Father being born in the UK) and Walker even though born in the UK isn't I understand as one of his parents would have to have a UK settled status before he was born for Walker to be eligible for UK Citizenship.

            Second Tier Nation players benefit from the rules as they can play for either a Tier 1 National side or a Tier 2 or 3 National side if they meet the eligibility rules.

            Players that play for any Tier 1 national side cannot ever elect to play for another Tier 1 National side under the current rules

              He will have massive regrets when origin comes around every year. Good for us though.

                He should be allowed to play origin if he's good enough, he's born and raised in NSW, played his first games here. Stupid rule if he is excluded because he played for England. Should be eligible to play for Australia if he wants to in the future. Plenty of past players in origin who have played for other countries, Carrol for one.

                  Brad Thorne for two. Not only played for Qld and Australia in League but was an All Black as well. Now if that doesn't highlight that the eligibility rules are only rules of convenience, then nothing does.

                    The eligibility rules are an absolute joke.

                      Rules have changed though as once you play for a Tier 1 National side you cannot play for any other Tier 1 National side only Tier 2 National sides. - If you play for a Tier 1 National side other than Australia you are ineligible for SOO as well.

                        There's no need to bring Ism22s family into it.

                          I understand that, but the rules change every year so they can change again, and to stop him playing origin is just bloody mindedness. If he's good enough he should be selected.

                            100% this. Don’t see how it’s different to Toops or the Samoan Panther boys. They all grew up in Sydney and have heritage with other countries they want to honour for one reason or another. Just let them. The origin rules apply to an era when 99% of the players were white Aussies

                              Of course it'ss an absurd rule.

                              Rads should be just as eligible as any of the Pacific boys who also play Origin.
