Watched him play in Harold Matthews Cup earlier in the year - Suffered a pretty bad head knock against Western Suburbs Magpies ( out cold for some time) and missed several games afterwards - played second row alongside Ethan Roberts.

Will play Harold Matthews Cup again in 2023.

How long is he contracted for?
      Any idea?
Would love to hear the name Fittler called again by the commentators in years to come for the Roosters.

scary how big and good he could be

        186cm and 105 kg's

One assumes Zach would be on some sort of contract

I know they can sign underage deals from the age of 15 with NRL clubs as well as with player managers.

Information on who has signed such contracts and their length etc is kept pretty confidential and in house by clubs but sometimes is reported in the press

The Va'a brothers (Xavier and De La Salle) for instance signed 3 year contracts with the Roosters up to the end of 2024. - Xavier will be playing Jersey Flegg and De La Salle SG Ball in 2023.

The Bronco's used to sign a stack of kids on scholarships so not sure if these contracts nowadays are similar to those ones- money towards their education ?

I’d imagine uncle Nick would make sure we don’t lose him. I’d assume he’d be excited to see him run around for the chooks as well in FG

He's looks a bit too heavy set for the backs in league, maybe a 13.
Definitely has the body shape for a 12 in rugby ala Morgan Turinui,

FWIW Freddy says he's already stronger than him.

That's a 50 year old Freddy, but a pretty big achievement for a kid IMO.

He played second row for the lower grade Roosters and from what I saw he certainly didn’t stand out.

Zach was only 15 when playing under 17's Harold Matthews Cup this year and I thought he went okay - missed 5 games after the head knock/ concussion incident vs Wests Magpies - 4 games and 3 tries.

Not sure what some were expecting of a 15 year old

I look forward to see how Zach progresses along with Lachlan Dooner next year in Harold Matthews Cup - both the same age and bright futures ahead along with several others

The kid looks like a real unit. Strong and has his Dad's step.

Playing up two years at 15 is a huge ask !!! If he held his own I'd say it would have been more than acceptable

Let’s face it. Sandy Campbell at his worst would stand out in school boys union.

He was a good Baseballer Sandy Campbell - played against him in 1st grade in the NSW Major League for several seasons- You would pitch breaking /off speed balls to him though ( i.e curveball/slider/splitter) as he would jump on any fastball.

Yep I played 1st yawnion aged 15 and while the standard's nothing like Harold Matthews, your body changes a lot during those years (even if you're a big kid).

I remember going over to the UK for a tour and in training they paired me up with a random fattie front rower for tackling practice (think ~130kg couch potato private school boy, not some freakish physical specimen). Didn't matter what I did... I couldn't physically bring the guy down 1-on-1. I remember trying REALLY hard and just bouncing off him.

IMO Freddy's doing just fine if he can hold his own against elite players who are a couple of years up from him.
