In a lot of ways similar feel to old stadium but modernized. The sound system is terrible and needs to be fixed.

Gold member row F near halfway. Average view as expected. Not high enough for mine due to 'luck of the draw'. Will see what Mship can do but wont be paying for those seats. Also, got wet as expected. How they honestly could say every seat is under cover out of the elements is beyond me

I actually got that feeling through the TV coverage as well.

The stadium is awesome. Amazing! The seating gradient is excellent.

The men’s toilet closest to Bay 15 is way too small. One of the pissers commented, “Imagine what it’s going to be like in here at half-time”. Plus there is only one entry/exit.

Great that we will be playing here again next week at OUR new home stadium!
I couldn't get that Bon Jovi song out of my head all yesterday. This video is from Roosterman Productions, not the official NRL TV commercial:

Whilst at the game last night I thought of Easts fans over the years.
Brian is often spoken of but my fondest memory of any Easts fan/fans dates from the days at the sports ground and the early days of the initial SFS. There were two mates, one who was blind and his mate commentated to his blind friend, at times they had a radio. That’s friendship. I hope both or either were there last night.

                  Unfortunately I couldn’t get there.

Not expecting a response until after the match but it looks awesome.
                  Couple of my observations.
The stadium is amazing, great viewing & the pitch looks as good as I’ve ever seen & from all the sports fields in Aus I’ve been to & id say 2nd only to the Adelaide Oval in regards to grass quality & smoothness.
The concourse standing area looks good & gives a bit of flexibility to drink beers & stand with full view. The big screens are good & you really do feel close to the action. Certainly a better sounding ground than any other league venue as the crowd noise & cheering resonated.

Downsides & I guess a few are teething problems.
They say all seats are under cover (supposedly the roof drip line) yet after a decade in Gold section on the city side I got moved to Eastern side which I hate & new seats are 15 rows back on 40m line yet as soon as the rain started falling I was getting wet ( I was fully undercover previously). I mean rain doesn’t simply fall straight down so pretty much all on lower level will get wet depending on the wind direction.
Getting out was a nightmare as I walked past so many gates but security had them shut & were forcing people through gate 1 which caused a massive bottle neck.
Again all these venues are ran by idiots that have no idea when it comes to staffing & catering. Happy to charge a mortgage for a bottle of coke & some chips yet I stood in line for 15 mins at around 6:15 just to get something (wouldn’t have been 10,000 there at that time) as some food outlets were still closed & there was about 2 pies& 4 buckets of chips available. I mean it was announced as a sell out do how could they not have it fully staffed & fully operational. Toilets yeah plenty of them but I prefer the one way in one way out set up where the only 2 I used were in & out the same way so it’s always a pinch point with jostling to get in.
Fair whinge but yeah that’s my take.
Great stadium, just needs more staff & more exit etc.

Yep just said the same. Why not stick to 1 way in & 1 way out to stop pushing & squeezing past.

                      Some good, some bad.

It term of views watching football, I don't think it's as good as the old stadium. For me, the best seats are the top half of the lower level in any stadium, but there are now roughly ten rows less, probably due to ease of access/egress reasons. It's the same with Bankwest - in both stadiums the level of the concourses would have been great places for seats. Also, I'm not sure the rake of the seating is as good as the old. After being at the opening and the first game I would not sit anywhere higher than the bottom half of the 2nd level. And from Bay 34 my view of the north eastern corner was obscured.

Agree with the comment about the fancy lights and effects. I don't give a toss! Just want to see the football. And they completely overdid those flames before the first game! I felt like toast after the music. I never expected the line about everyone being undercover to be true. One look at the preview told me this was the case (have architects never hears of thing called 'wind'?)....just make sure you bring a raincoat when it rains.

The only thing that is the same that is not welcome was the price of food.

Oh, the good? The atmosphere was great, and it's not the SCG! And the history pages will say we won the first game there!

The food was good, had a fair few drinks at a few pubs from about 2pm, so was pretty hungry when I got to the stadium, the salt and pepper calamari(two serves) and cheeseburger spring rolls were really good.

Hope they are always there, and also hope it wasn’t just drunken hunger that made them taste good.

Great stadium - really enjoyed everything about it except the bathroom design. Who the hell has one small door for both entry and exit. Plus the bathrooms are way too small. The lineups were ridiculous.

An excellent stadium. I didnt think viewing was as good as Commbank (bankwest) not even close but that's just my opinion. We're only 6 rows back so that makes it hard with kids and the rain, especially driving 1hr30min for each home game. Really enjoyed the atmosphere but think i will ditch the families gold membership and just attend when it really suits us. Glad I've supported the club and pledged our Mship the last few years but think that may do us
