The four I would pursue, if I ran the club would be:

1. Ryan James
2. Kevin Gordon (the man is a greyhound)
3. Matt Srama
4. David Mead (as we went for him before)

That would be pretty inexpensive set.

Two very, very fast wingers, a strong forward and a pretty creative hooker.

grodon, mead and rankin are the only backs that we should look at from them. gordon and mead need no introduction. I rate rankin very very highly. can play 1, 6 and 7. great speed and footwork, good goalkicker and organiser. Id even go so far as to say that I would have prefered us to have signed him instead of maloney and had rankin and mortimer battle it out for the vacant #6 jumper. if rankin wins the race for 6 then mortimer could resume his effective utility role from the bench; if mortimer wins then rankin would give us another very good option at fullback. he has also played fullback in first grade and done quite well.

douglas, bird and james would be the only forwards i would consider. we dont need a new hooker - our depth in this department is strong; bailey, harrison & minichiello are past it. James would be a dynamo for us either on the edges or up the middle. he and JWH would do some serious damage
