Walsh's kicking game is infinitely better than Pearce's.. That counts for a lot for a halfback. Bombs that land a metre from the tryline and allow the chases to compete, an ability to roll grubbers in goal. Watch the replay of our match v Panthers. Walsh is a limited player but he plays to his strength's better than Pearce. He organizes the forwards and backs nicely, though has zero running game like Pearce In fact for a damning indictment. Against the Tigers in the trial, we looked better in attack with a manufactured half in Kheralliah. His kicking game was on song and as soon as Pearce came on the midfield bombs which go about 10 metres too deep were out in force.

To be fair Burnsvictim is a better player than Bwaiff has been for a long time, and their FBs are the same over Mini. They have a handy set of pigs aswell.

If you put Friend and Pearce in the QLD side, they'll need to play SOMEBODY. Those 2 are the leading contenders for the hooking and half role this year.

I don't like Pearce because he is a middle of the road half getting paid marquee money. I don't like him for the same reasons so many on here hate Anasta.

People like to claim that all Pearce needs is a superstar 5/8 to partner with him, well the same is true with Anasta. Throw Cronk or Thurston into our 7 jersey and I'm sure he would look much better too. Thing is, when one of your halves cannot bring anything to the table and requires the other to carry the can, you don't reward that passenger by making him one of it not the highest paid player at the club.

Unfortunately we are stupid enough to do so, and as such have sacrificed several seasons letting him "develop" and thrown away many opportunities to chase other halfbacks in order to keep superboy.

After all they don't force clubs to pay them, I mean the clubs can always say no and chase someone else for less. In reality your gripe should be with the club not the individual. I myself have stated often he's not a superstar, just a good player, a clubman.

And mate I don't claim he needs a superstar 5/8 to be a success, just a quality 1, 6 and 9 would do. Even just 2 of those.
