  • If you really loved us you would leave

I was thinking about a few things tonight, yeah i know the cogs were actually turning for once !!! but i was looking at things in a different light and came to this conclusion.

Braith and Mini need to go ! (hence the title of the thread)

Now it is not because i don't think they offer something, the certainly do, sometimes we can't see it as fans.

The Reason why i want them to go is for the future success of the club. When we look at clubs that have been successful, we see one common thread, Longevity of combinations.

going back to the Canberra sides of the mid-late 80's (near 10 yr combinations), the broncos of the 90's (again 10 yr combos) and the Storm in the 00's (cronk, slater and smith have been in the same system for 9 years), even the rooster sides of the late 90's early 2000's, there was a longevity of combinations which caused the core of a side where a team can be built.

that brings us to Braith and mini. i figure the longer they stay, the longer the delay will be to get these much needed combinations started. We have the 9 and 7 in place, we have a 6 coming in next season, we just need the fullback and the puzzle will be complete, the quicker we can get a young player in the sooner success will come.

It's not that i loath Mini and braith, i appreciate what they do, but if they love us they will let us go.

        Good post muzz.
I think Mini will go quietly.
Anasta on the other hand has the illusion that he still has two good years in the NRL.
If he doesn't sign with us, he will find heart and soul somewhere else.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you'll prise the captaincy out of Anasta's cold, dead hands.

If it came down to it and the club wanted to go forward with Shreck this year (if he kills it by the middle of the year) then Mini would retire, with quiet dignity and grace.

The sad thing is that they both appear to be under the tragic illusion that they are easily up to first grade standard, and possibly in contention for representative football.

It is a yardstick of just how fuucked up things have become around here.

I thank Braith for his efforts but given his Doggy past couldn't care too much.

What is genuinely heartbreaking is that having ruined the legacy of one Easts legend in Fittler, we are going down that path with Mini as well.

I get annoyed when Mini is mentioned in the same sentence as bwaiff........Mini hasnt done anything wrong, bwaiff hasnt done anything right.....get over the dropping mini thing, hes the best option we have at fb, but bwaiff should be out of the team...now.

Great post ! No one is saying to drop Mini straight away, and no one is blaming our poor start on Mini.. He's been a great servant of the club ! But if RTS or anyone else starts killing it in lower grades at FB, they should be given a shot in order to help them continue to develop...

We all say NYC is nothing like first grade, well continuing to play NYC is not going to help is it. Getting your hands dirty in FG will help... I rather see a junior with no experience make a mistake, knowing they will learn from it..

Mini's support lpay has been good but there is no other redeemable aspect of his game. His last man defence is atrocious and he hasn't threatened the line since 2004
