FPN at lock - AGAIN?!

When I think about all the different posts on different players that I have read here at the chookpen, only the player listed in the team below have escaped from anyone posting to get rid of them.


Kennedy, I did post that i think out of our 4 props I would release him 1st.

So that leaves

How would they go? Worse than what we are now believe it or not.

My point is if the coaching staff listened to the fans there would only be a hand full of players left.
But Smith really is painful with his selections though.

Very well said Mickey. I have no doubt that Brian Smith knows a good deal more about the game/coaching/selections than me or anyone here but his stubborness and bizarre selections no longer seem to be sane.

He was never sane, his selections have always bordered on the bizarre to many fans, why do you think he leaves clubs the bad way always, it's the way he's always been.

I'm no major fan of the bloke but I know it wouldn't matter who we have as coach we don't have the team ATM to be consistent.

I don't believe we are that far off player wise, and I believe we are hunting the right type of players, if the rumours are at least 1/2 true.

Thing is with the coach it wouldn't matter who we got to do the job, certain posters would still wait till we fail and reignite the mass-debate, blame everyone from the cheerleaders to Politis, and want the coach knockedoff.

Besides no-one knows more than Fred69er when it comes to coaching, especially. He has told us so on many many occasions, it must be the case.

As for FPN, I thought he started the game well and was taken off too early. His form in other games however has been questionable. Basically I think he is lazy.

Spots 13 and 15 can be tossed up between the inconsistent Nuuausala, Takairangi and Guerra, the ineffective Arona and Symonds, or the untried Bosden. We are yet to find an appropriate replacement for Myles - Cordner is a hard worker like Aubusson but is best used attacking the fringe. We need someone at lock who can churn through truckloads of hitups and tackles the way that Gallen, Myles, or even someone like Luke O'Donnell used to do.

I don't understanding why Brian Smith keeps selecting FPN at lock. Surely with our halves struggling you would want a ball playing lock who can add something extra in attack. Even Tom Symmonds would be a better option.

I thought FPN took the line on well & got several offloads away last Sunday, it was the best I've seen him play for a couple of years! He was pretty good against the Vermin from memory as well

That is the madness of Smith, he replces him on the 20 minute mark no matter how the game is going with Arona.

I totally agree I think FPN has played well while he is out there& I am not even a fan of Frank Paul's.
