Ok I just burst into tears reading this headline..Please share this with anyone who may need it..I know RUOK Day is not until September but as far as I'm concerned, it's every day...some of us are by ourselves for many reasons whether like me it's because family are interstate or overseas (or like me also, they follow Souths, Parra & Brisbane...) and we've lost our partners/parents/children to illness or due to divorce..sometimes this place is good company for us all to come and chat and have a laugh..

I do some work for Lifeline so I know a little bit about the area.
Never doubt yourself if you think you want to call them or are in a grim place.
People dismiss their issues as ‘not enough’ or at the other end of the spectrum, ‘too intense’.
Just reach out. They don’t judge.
Hope you’ll all good my friends on here. We all care about each other, even if we never meet. So look after yourselves.Last edited by Bansai Pipeline; 08-16-2022, 10:48 PM.

I've never met anyone face to face personally on this site, but feel I've got to know quite a few of you over the past 11 years. When JT passed away it was like losing a family member, so yes, we do all care about each other.

This is a bit painful.
I know one of the biggest problems is that you get to a point where you think everyone you know would be better off without you. You can convince yourself that you're actually doing them a favour.I remember one night about 10 years ago I walked up to the Warrego Hway and had the idea of walking out in front of a semi trailer. Quick and easy. But as I sat there waiting I thought of the effect this might have on the unknown driver, and shelved that plan.
I think Paul Greens timing was bad. The morning after his sons 9th birthday. It's gonna effect that poor kid badly.

Thanks for sharing Eddie and you know you are a big part of this Roosters family and hold a valid place in the friendship/mateship circle some of us have on here.“If there is one thing I cannot stand is snobbery. I gotta be honest and say that the chookpen helped me out somewhat in darker times.
Several members, yourself included, convinced me that life was more important than I could see at the time.
Special mention to Clem..............and JT , who is very sadly missed.

Did he lack courage?
As I see it he was so accomplished and had so much to live for, a lot more than I did.
I really feel for his kids.

Today is RUOK Day. I'm bumping up this thread even though we have an official thread on this topic in the Away From The Game section, which not everyone posts in.
As the nagging mother hen of this forum, I'd like you blokes to look out for one another..please
We don't have a lot of games left in the season and I know a lot of people log in here daily for the company and chatter which is a good thing and a testament to Chris and the mods for their hard work, so thank you to them also.“If there is one thing I cannot stand is snobbery. They played a clip on radio last week or so at his memorial of his son giving him a father's day message.
Geez it was very hard to listen to, made me upset for some time afterwards. The poor family but especially his son whose birthday won't be the same probably ever again.
It must be such a dark place to be in for a lot of people day in day out. Thankfully theres a lot of help out there. Makes footy losses so trivial.
