What do we do with Brandon Smith?

I reckon Verrils would have signed for the Dolphins by now. I have a suspicion he wants to stay and fight for a place and if that is the case then you have to give him some credit and respect.

The cupboards pretty bare if he leaves tbh from a depth perspective so all it will take is an injury to Smith and we’re stuffed.

Well nothing really,but I think we need him more than he needs us. He could stay at the Storm,go to Dolphins etc,but I feel we think Verrills isn’t the future so we chased him.

Smith is great utility value. Can play dummy half, prop and lock. And can play all positions at a very high level.

Don’t be surprised if Smith starts the season in the second row. In Sitilis no:12 jersey. He has great utility value and can probably adjust to any position in the forwards. Verrills is an all out 9. Could possibly come off the bench but then what do we do with Watson? Interesting times ahead.

Smith is next level compared to Verrils. He will have an impact straight away of the highest level. I can't wait to see him in our colours

gee some of you are silly. Verrills is decent, nothing more. He puts his body on the line which i respect but he isn't a game changing hooker nor player. Smith is. He was the best hooker in the league last year, an absolute workhorse whos passing will give both our playmakers time and our forwards momentum into the line. His speed out of ruck is strong. Just because he hasn't been playing that great this year (predominantly at lock and sometimes even prop, while 10-15 kg heavier than he should be because of this position switch) doesn't mean he wont be a game changer. How about we wait for him to start playing a position he wants to play under Robbo before we start talking about him back flipping.

I've closely watch him since we signed him and he has been seriously underwhelming..

Smith has openly said he has put on about 8kg to play the role the Storm need him to. He will strip that off in the off-season with us and come back firing. The guys is a winner and changes the tempo of the game when he is on, not many do that. So many will be eating humble pie next year, the mind boggles that people cannot see how good he is

Yeah I rate Verrills but Smith is a marquee signing.

He's sick of the Drizz and they kept him a year and a bit too long (despite having already anointed Harry the Great). He's coming here to play #9.

Verrills is a profession and (unlike Lam and a few others) is validly 1st grade. After a year or two of injuries, he's focussing on his footy and will continue to do so. I hope he stays with us and thrives. If not, hopefully he plays himself into a $$$ contract elsewhere.

I question the validity of the whole Daily M awards...as do many others when rooster players rarely win those awards.
