He came within a whores hair of scoring earlier but defence is done by centres/front and second rowers not wingers.

Or drink with Carey and become a wife beater.

Do you mean Wayne or Todd Carney?

Carey was a dirtbag but he never thumped his wife and all of Carney's behavior has been largely self-destructive.

Would have been better if he played for us today.

How can you judge someone when they are playing for Newtown. How those boys can get up for those games is very hard to figure out. They're not even wearing red, white and blue. Moga, Tagive and Bosden should all be given a go at NRL level, why they're languishing at Henson Park is a mystery to me especially when you see some of the nuffies we have in the top side.

He doesn't have to drink with Carey when Cherrington is available.

Ease up mate! I stand by what I said.

There are some very good individual players in that team, that could do a better job that some of the players in our top side.

They may not have played well on the day, but sometimes that happens, and they played in pretty tough circumstances.

Verlinden was one of the players I really rate there, and they lost him after 5 minutes. Littlejohn is an important part of the team, and he was injured early on, and then left the field. 2 man bench. They had little left in reserve, and the game blew out in the end. They were right in the game despite a bad start, until a disallowed try broke their backs.

Does anyone know the extent of Verlinden's injury?

Ray, the reason those players are in reserve grade is because our coach is hopeless. He has a history of keeping good players in reserve grade whilst less deserving players maintain their spots in first grade. His endless mind games will never stop until he is sacked.

                            Very true.

But when applied to our 1st grade team, and we actually win, the sentiment from some of our fans is very different indeed.

As I said, out of the three players mentioned Henry, Bosden and Tagive, on yesterday performance only Tagive deserves a shot at first grade. In fact I would love to see him in our first grade team, either on the wing or in the centres. Scored a great individual try yesterday. It is the first time I have seen Bosden play a full game, and came away very disappointed. His defence was flimsy, dropped the ball on more then one occasion and made no impact in attack. Maybe he just had an off day. Henry didn't see much ball, but as one guy in the crowd yelled out, 'use your shoulders to tackle!'. You should have seen the dirty look Henry gave that guy in the crowd. Made me laugh.

Just on Moga. While he had a very quite game, it was the first competition game that he has played in open company and he was coming back from injury so there are some excuses there. Also, whenever he did get his hands on the ball he had players all over him before he could take a step. Like SKD, I think Moga is the type of player that needs to get the ball with a little bit of space between him and the opposition. Whether he will get that in first grade with our lacklustre halves is doubtfull. I have seen Moga play many, many games and I know what he is capable of, and I think he will become a very strong first grader, but he won't be an instant success as some might think. He'll take time to adjust like most other youngsters.

It's a mystery to me why you're making excuses for reserve graders. That's very unlike you mate.

Maybe those blokes you mention arent ready for 1st grade as yet. A team like Melba would destroy players that can't compete in reserve grade.

Do you really think they even care about the colours??? Two of those blokes just came here didn't they???

And if blokes don't have pride in their performances, no matter what jumper they wear, I don't want them in 1st grade. We all know very few really bleed for the colours anymore, it's a professional game now. But without pride in ones performance you have very little going for you.

Not saying that's the case here, probably just played a good side and had a bazza of a day, happens to every team at every level at some point. I do find it amusing when the 1st grade play badly and win they cop a heap of criticisim but Pootown play badly it's Smiffs fault.
