The one thing that always stick with me from that Gf was after the game seeing how pumped David Kidwell a player who did not play in the game was when he came over to us doing the lap of honour
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

just watched it - great days. we hadn't won for so long and part of me was thinking that we might never see a roosters premiership again. great doco. i've seen all the wins since 74 and the 2019 is my favourite - that was one for the purists - but 2002 was a great night

Agree Zac. I started supporting the club in the late 70's and after the 1980 GF loss, I honestly thought I'd never see us in another GF, let alone win one. Now I've been to all 8 GF's since that time including the 4 wins. Blows my mind when I think about it.

And agree, 2019 was epic. What the players went through that night to win that comp was incredible. The 6 again rubbish sadly overrides it but we all know what really happened that night - a win for the ages.

maybe it's wrong to compare gf wins - there are no bad gf wins - but those two are up there. yeah, 2019 was such a gutsy display, and b2b isn't easy

Great video. Sheet they were a bloody good team weren't they? Seeing JWH at the end brought a tear to my eye.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

              Best we've ever played.

The 2002 team were something special when you look back on that now but the 2013 one is still my favourite for some reason. 2019 stressed me out so much..2018 was a pleasant surprise as I did not see that coming..oh just realised I am wearing that T-shirt now..LOL...I have so many I forget what I put on for my walks half the time...

SKD may have something to do with it - as many know he was one of your favourites?

Regardless, a cracker of a game. Down 18 -8 and things were looking ominous. But SBW and Maloney to the rescue, to Mini, then to SKD (broken jaw 'n all) and suddenly there's a chance.
Jennings try from a perfectly weighted kick (Rooster 6 will disagree - I too have a steel trap memory) that put the icing on the cake.

Moa or Maloney for CC medallist for mine but not to be.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

LOL..I didn't even factor in SKD when I typed that..you know, he never does get lauded for playing with that broken jaw... My favourite part was Toups making the Wolfman (who? ) invisible I think..don't get me started on Sam Moa getting ripped off for the CC...please don't mention cake or icing..some of us may or may not have eaten too much this week...

The 2018 win was just an amazing gift over a very very disliked club. The 2002 one was heroic after so many years..and because that was the year I moved back over here..

                      Forgive me, I meant 2018.

I love them all in their own way.
2002 - special because I waited 20 something years to see my first premiership win.
2013 - because the team was simply one of the greatest ever, with the famous Bondi Wall defence.
2018 - that first half was just amazing, so exhilarating to watch and against the Storm. The drama of Coops and his shoulder.
2019 - a gutsy fighting win for B2B, So stressful to watch.

Well I called IT for a work issue and I converted the poor man from a Warriors fan to a Roosters one in just 15 mins...my managers are all very impressed..oh and we fixed the IT issues too during the call...I said my work here is done....He said meeting JWH was a highlight too one day just driving along and waving to him..JWH waved back of course...friendly man..
