  • Luke Brooks

This guy has one foot out the door at the Tigers already, and as of today has essentially slagged off the West Tigers leadership. It's a matter of weeks possibly until he is gone imo.

He has only ever played at a bog awful club with a terrible culture and terrible leadership.

He is not total crap - I believe it was 2018 he won halfback of the year, and was 3rd on the Dally Ms for the year.

It is in this guy to be a very good half.

IF the worst happens to Keary (which im hoping it wont, i'd rather see Keary blitz it for another 3 seasons) would you rather persist with a Hutchison, Manu or Lam in the halves?

Or under the stewardship of Robbo and Cronk and under a good culture, can we steer Brooks to greatness?

I thought Brooks was an option if Keary retired as he would come cheap with the Tigers expected to pay for a large chunk of his salary. But he wont sign for one year and if we are keen for Munster or Burton in 2024 then he wouldn't suit our long term strategy.

I'm sure there will be a bunch of people come into this thread and call Brooksie a terrible player, but he's not. He has played in a side with a losing pack and very little talent in the outside backs his entire career. I think he'd go just fine here, but I would much prefer we had a big shot at Burton, even though they are very different types of players.

It wouldn't be the darkest timeline though, in my opinion.

Not a bad shout.. similar player to keary in the 6 obviously lacking in the class department but yeah he is a handy player. Loves to take the line on which I love but can also be a weak point in his game as he tends to over do it. Perhaps with better coaching around him he can refine his running game to become more effective and efficient.

          Very good shout

He’s not bad. He’s not great.

Average halves get you an average result.

Speaking of halves, what’s this I hear about Chad Townsend being brought into the blues camp? I hear it’s for Paps who has covid but I’ve also heard Possible covid for Cleary? If so, does Fittler totally dislike Moses?

            Any news or clarity?

He makes a lot of horrible mistakes all on his own, no blame to go to the pack he plays behind. he has had 10 years to make an impression, I think his time to shine is past.

Luke Brooks does not win you a comp. good/average player. I rate him similar to Lam

it's an option but i'm doubtful. if keary goes i'd go with joey manu at 5/8 and get a good centre for cheaper

Yeah we will have the smallest halves pairing in the comp. Hell no.
