The Sydney Roosters have today announced the release of Daniel Suluka-Fifita with immediate effect. He will join the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Player 1193, Suluka-Fifita made his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2020 and made 20 NRL appearances for the Tricolours between 2020-2022.

The Roosters would like to thank Daniel for his contribution to the Club and wish him all the best in the future.

While May hasnt set the world on fire in first grade, you only have to see his cup games to know he will be a serviceable forward in the NRL in time. There was no point investing game time into DSF with him going to souths next year, wasnt like he was a net benefit to the team like Mahoney or Kikau are at their respective clubs to warrant keeping around.

Another very puzzling selection to have him on the bench against Penrith & not even use him in wet heavy conditions? Can anyone explain that?

I bet we have an opportunity to sign someone and that’s why we are releasing 2 players all of a sudden. Lodge is a perfect fit for us and wants to be here could be the best signature in a couple of years we have made. Now for the new outside back I would guess. Exciting times coming up!!!

In the presser Robbo mentioned that one of the replacements in the first half got messed up and SST ended up having to play long minutes. Guessing that was the reason.

Yes it was strange that he put in but wasn't used off the bench against the Panthers, maybe he spat the dummy re Lodge signing. It's a long road for these young props to develop, he might grow into the job.
