  • Happy Birthday Boyd Cordner

One of my all time favourites.

    Turns 30 today.

The player we have missed the most over the last few years. More than Cronk, more than a
Latrell, more than Friendy. This guy was our true inspirational leader on and off the field.

Yeah I agree R6 he was an absolute champion.
He was on Benji’s show the other night & I thought he spoke really well.
Said he’s doing a bit of work at the Roosters.
Even though I have no problem with Sammy boy being in the NSW camp I personally would have Boyd in there instead.

Loved Cords, sad way to prematurely finish his career. Loyal Rooster for life. Fearless leader of his team.......but to say we have missed him the most over Cronk, Lattrell & Friend is just bonkers. He would be third behind Cronk & Latrell if you could bring two back right now.

I was a big Latrell fan, but Boyd would fix problems on both sides of the field. I’d take him back 2nd on that list.

That's so true. A strange choice indeed by Brad.

Of course it would make sense if the Freddy/Sammy bulldogs coaching rumour had substance?

                      That's a fair call R6.

I still can’t get over his and Jake’s forced retirements. Neither deserved to go out that way.

He will be a Rooster till he dies. I remember during his retirement press conference, when asked what his proudest moment of his career was, holding back the tears, he simply replied "being a Rooster"
Not captaining club, state or country. Not winning premierships, origin series or world cups, but simply being a Rooster. There's currently that other thread about what we need to do to become contenders again. Blood more players with this level of love and passion for our jersey would be start IMO
