Hearing from within the club that Crichton will re-sign but the Roosters will need to release Verrills to do so..

Sounds like the cap pressure is very real

Sort of half expected this post Brandon Smith’s signing. That he was either going to be released, or allowed to talk with other clubs. He’ll be a guaranteed starter at a Dolphins/Dragons/Tigers etc, and he’ll get a nice paycheck to go with it. I don’t think he’d be playing anywhere other than NSW cup here, we wouldn’t have both Watson/Sam coming off the bench in 2023.

I would be surprised if he didn't seek a release. While I think his form has been down since he did his ACL, I think he is quality and deserved minutes which we won't give him next year.

Separately, what do we think Crichton is worth? His form is certainly down this year compared to last year, but i have no doubt that is due to the shift from left to right. Is $650k-$700k realistic?

I'd like to see Angus remain on a smaller salary.
If we loose Verrils, SST, Naquama, Lam, DSF, Keighran, Hutch and Atoni.................could we afford to offer Haas 750,000 ?????

The guy just keeps having bad luck ay!!

Must be rough as he's gone from scoring a key try in a tight premiership to not really losing talent... but havibg injuries foul his chances of cementing a spot.

Surely you release Hutcho/Watson for Verrills though? We've signed the Cheese and Verrills in better than the other two. He won't be demanding top dollar.

They were great for a healthy period of time, but I’m living back in Sydney now. My fathers health brought me home, and for now I’m here

With Cheese coming I bet Robbo is desperate for Verrills to find another club.

Crighton lacks the lateral movement to be an edge defender. We are now at the point where the opposition know Crighton will panic and blink first. Moses baited him into conceding two tries. Sharks McInnes even baited him.

Grubber mentioned that Angus was gone when we thought Haas was on the radar, does that change things?

what is Tapine contract at the raiders? Wouldn’t mind him for a reasonable price.

Anyone know how close Tapine was to joining us last year? Various media outlets had it all but confirmed

He is exactly the type of player we need.

This signing makes sense, he troubled us on the weekend big frame, decent motor, good offload and wouldn’t be commanding big dollars he had a lot of issues with holding the pill a couple years back seems like he has cleaned that up all in all I like it.

                          tapine's a dangerous player.
with smith coming and watson at 14 there's no guarantee that verrills will be in the team. this year was his chance to demand selection but he hasn't had the chance to show us what he's got and maybe a different club makes sense. either way, hope he finishes this year with a bang.

I’m a big fan of Tapine. A combination of JWH and SBW in one ( a tad overboard but hey )

Though I doubt Canberra would let him go considering Papalli’s age
