The Roosters may have fallen to the Panthers in Round 2 at Allianz Stadium - but big Marty Kennedy showed he is back!
Coming off the bench Kennedy was the best of the Roosters forwards in attack last Sunday, running for 133m from 16 hit-ups in just 41 minutes. He also had 4 tackle breaks and 20 tackles to top off a great performance (worth 34 NRL Dream Team points).
After a bright start to 2011, a knee injury cruelled Kennedy’s season, but after some hard work in rehab and pre-season, Kennedy is back to his best.
His performance forced him back into the starting number 10 jersey, and is just one of the reasons why Roosters fans should be confident ahead of their clash with the Raiders on Sunday afternoon. We’ve crunched the numbers and come up with the key stats for this week’s clash.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is thriving in his new role leading the Roosters forward pack in 2012, particularly in defence. Waerea-Hargreaves has averaged 30 tackles per game in 2012, which is up significantly from his average of 24 in 2011. Not only has this made him a quality Dream Team recruit - check out our analysis of Waerea-Hargreaves Dream Team prospects- but also a much more important member of the Roosters defensive line.

Getting off to a big start is often the key between these two teams, with momentum crucial in determining the winner. Only twice in the last 10 seasons has the side leading at half time between the Roosters and Raiders not gone on to win the game. In good news for Roosters fans, both of those second-half comebacks were by the Tricolours.

The back three in any team are important in getting a set off to a good start, but at the Roosters this has been the case in a major way. Fullback Anthony Minichiello (186m from 21 hit-ups) and winger Sam Perrett (199m from 22 hit-ups) both gained massive metres in Sunday’s loss, particularly out of dummy-half, where Perrett ran 8 times for 82m. This will be vital against a sizable Raiders forward pack in Sunday, with the small men often able to take advantage of tiring defence.

Still to come this week on www.SydneyRoosters.com.au is the head-to-head match up, where we take a look at the battle between former Origin five-eighths Braith Anasta and Terry Campese. We’ve also got your game-day coverage sorted, with the Late Mail, live updates and the word from the coach and captain following the game.

| STAT |
The Roosters have built a bit of a fortress at Allianz Stadium against the Raiders in recent times. The Raiders have won just once against the Roosters in Sydney since 1995, with that victory coming last year in Monday Night Football.
| STAT |
In the past 20 years the Roosters have been kept to nil just eight times. On each occasion, they have won the following week, a record which includes a 24-8 win over Canberra in 1992 following a 10-0 loss to Newcastle the week previous.
