  • Game plan vs Pennies

When Parra beat them a couple weeks ago they basically went set for set with them, that’s all well and good I believe we can do that but our halves kicking game is far inferior to Cleary’s (Moses and co matched them in the kicking department also) they will eventually grind us down in the battle of territory but the Eels had something like 40+ offloads that frustrated the Pennies.

We need field position to bomb those midget wingers all night this is where I believe we are far superior to them and probably the most likely way we win this match, Toops and Joe are both 6’5. Of course our forwards need to be at their very best where all games are won.

Last week was great to watch us finally put it together how do you guys think we can disrupt the Penrith machine any other weaknesses in the way they play we can exploit?

The Riff very rarely score length of the field tries, pin them in the corners, no cheap penalties or 6 again piggy backs down field, hold the ball and take them on up the middle

If we can complete at >85% we can beat any team. Robbo's game plan will do the rest.

I'm concerned about how they will beat us. Their 2nd rowers running straight thru the likes of Sammy, Manu, Momo and Sitili

Kikow runs at the inside (smaller guys)and outside centres. Stop him before he gets the ball.. Pressure on clearys kicks. luwhy needs a whack in the face.

Yeah JWH did over 120 metres down the middle in the first 30 against the Eels.

IMO if we play like we did in the first half against the Eels and are able to score the first couple of tries then we're in with a chance.

Tough balance... we need to play expansive footy without stupid errors/penalties. Amongst that, we can guarantee the refs will fark us a few times and give the Riff a heap of gratuitous, late, 6-again calls.

In my mind we just need to back our defence, not get all emotional when times are tough and take advantage of the opportunities we get (i.e. if we're held on our line for 15-20 minutes & keep the Riff out then don't treat the ball like a hot potato when we finally get a line break... take the tackles down the middle, hold the ball tight and

IMO DSF, Collins, Crichton and Butcher all beed to have a big one. IMO (not under-rating the Riff's talent), they should all be able to give it to the likes of Martin, Fisher-Harris, Kikau, Sorrnsen, Salmon...etc. Crichton and Collins are both capable of matching Yeo's dominance while flicking the others aside, they just need to farking do it!!!

Our line speed and tackle selection will be the biggest challenge ge for us imo.. for us to be able to pin them down in their 20 we will need to stop all 5 of their backs all game because they all come in for runs during different stages of the game that allows their forwards a rest. They are a well oiled machine and will take some stopping from us

Tackle, tackle and tackle again. Tackle them so much they think it's a way of life. Then do the special passes and plays.

Going to be interesting to watch whether the Roosters can sustain any kind of decent field position against the relentless speed of the Panthers defensive line.

The panthers are relentless with their swarming defence after chasing clearys kicks.
Even the game they lost to the eels they were winning the arm wrestle until Sutton let Parra off the hook with some leg up penalties and 6 agains which allowed them to play some footy down near the try line.
Need big games by Toups and Suaalii to get our sets rolling off our line and some big metres from our forwards.
                        line.
Have to chance our arm a bit when we get our opportunities and play some attacking footy if we are to spring an upset.
Really looking forward to see how we go in this one.

Penriff is another team thats refs give an abundance of 6 agains..equal share means we have a chance. This riff team modelled themselves on the rooster 18/19 ..so the chooks will have to plan a game on beating themselves

High completion rate, no stupid penalties, stop offloads and play the game in their territory, if we do this we're halfway to winning. Big games from JWH, SST and Collins will help us win the Territory. We are due for a win over these guys. Easts by 10.

Put the bomb up to our 2 wingers at every opportunity will be one part of the plan.
