Yep, some fond memories. I played Shires for Penno for a few seasons before I moved to Canberra, after a few old mates talked me into joining them there. I loved playing there, good times.

It was never cricket for me down there. It was hockey with Northern Districts. Like you, then I also moved to Canberra. Played for Darra and Central.

it wasn’t always about the sport down there at Penno oval either. If you got lucky at Patrick’s, upstairs from the Penno pub on a Friday or Sat night, you could score some good runs in one of the ovals carparks!
