Watching the Parra v Penrith game enforces we are in big trouble when we play them over the next two weeks

I just came back from the raiders-bulldogs game, and it was awful, yet it further makes me wonder how the hell we lost to them, we are probably in trouble tmrw night, let alone the next two weeks

Hopefully, hopefully it makes us go up a gear even if we lose.

      No thrashings tho

Parra really earned that. Penrith had a fortune try after that kikau dropped ball.

I say they earned it mainly because of late in the second half they endured penriths strom like play of slowing down the ruck.

Eels played fitter and fairer and won. Some debate on the penalty try. Thought it ok.

Parra have the game to beat Penrith and actually should have beaten them in the week 2 of the finals last year

I noticed Parra's angle running back through the middle and edges seemed to cause Penrith problems in defence plus their shifts with the ball, offloads, support play and long kicking game - neither things the Roosters do that often(angle running .shifts , support play and offloads) or that well if at all ( long kicking game)

You have to move the Penrith Defence around and fatigue their players/ your defence need to muscle up and of course you have to go the full game with them - not 50 or 60 minutes but 80 minutes.

To beat the top teams you have match what they do with a few tweaks to your game as mentioned above as an example i.e Parra's Angle running shifts , support play and offloads and long kicking game.

What Roosters team will turn up tomorrow is anyone's guess one has to say - The unlocking the attack is wearing a bit thin - either find the key or cut the lock

Really? Are you saying Panfers should always get the calls and its good to see the better team get the win OR are you saying it was a good game?

F*ck that was a great try by Ryan Matterson.
It always hurts when an ex- Rooster does that sort of thing.

Yes...that's the standard we must reach to win games against those teams.
However, Eels were beaten 4-35 the match before by the "too big, too strong, too fast" Cowboys.

                    Panthers have premiership-winning 2021 halves.
We have a b2b premiership-winning 5/8 who is returning from a serious leg injury playing halfback,
...and a first year in FG fulltime basically rookie halfback who is playing 5/8.
                    Eels have very experienced halves.

We are rebuilding a champion team ...and are having major problems doing so.
It will obviously be taking some time to do.

Are we up to the standard of Panthers and Eels from last night?
                    No, not yet.
But, if the team we have plays its very best footy we are in with a chance of beating both teams.
Eels finally found someone who can tackle Kikau.
We are yet to do so.

One answer....we need to step up and stop the crap like dropped balls.

LOL at the ref and bunker...Kikau knock on, then try scored. Replayed on the big screen, the whole word saw the joke.
Match officials should be sacked, then sent off to "OPSM" to have their eyes tested.
Time to get some new match officials with "young eyes"...the "old eyes" aren't working out so well. Last week the "old eyes" everywhere missed the in-air and back slam from height tackle on Walker.

Why don’t fullbacks we play against let the ball bounce and we get a lucky try like last night that Parra got?

Why can Canberra loose six in a row and still beat the dogs?

Why do teams seem to get up more when they play us than any other team?

Raiders had players back for the Dogs game.
