Here’s the presser. Ryles kept alluding to some of the guys missing large chunks of the pre season so are still developing match fitness (Joey, JWH etc.). Also said our ball control was a lot better which allowed us to develop a rhythm

lets hope as we develop our match fitness and hopefully keep holding the ball we start to get more and more cohesion

Not arguing any of that but the difference for me was Keary finding his feet and Teddy doing less with his hands.

All started with strong ball control up the middle. Pretty obvious that JWH must start. Made a huge difference to our first 20mins

not to mention that robbo likes to pace the team over a season and losing a few early sometimes happens

Just wish we never had to lose to souffs. Still burning from that one

Yes. Plus completion rates were good and forwards weren’t dominated.

They would be 0 and 4 if we would have beaten them.

It starts and ends with ball control.

We started last week, what, 3/8 sets? We'll get lapped every time by the top sides doing that...

But on those extraordinarily rare occasions where we start a match like last night, completing at around 90% during the first 20 min, we become very hard to beat and everything comes together.

                Hardly rocket science.

Gee we have a very generous run of poor teams coming up, titans are probably our toughest game in the next 5 weeks.

                  broncos,Warriors,dragons,bulldogs,titans.

Yeah definitely an interesting insight ay?

I feel like Robbo's a 'no excuses' type who will rarely mention such things (at least publicly). Whereas, your average coach would see it as being noteworthy.

Small point... doesn't look like the Cows' coach has caused any controversy by saying the refs always favour us. I thought he did an okay presser but it was kinda odd seeing him brag about how well they'd done to lose only 28-4 and blame the refs. Glad our standards are a bit higher than that.

yep this. That’s why I’m willing to give them time, i
learnt from 18 where I was calling for a new coach after 3 games.

When he gets it right they peak
right on finals time. Last 2 years we had covid mid season break which saw us peaking too early and obviously injuries last year.
Not saying it will happen as this side isnt as good as 18 but they definitely can if all things come together

Does Teddy look like he has had a few too many plates of lasagna over the off season?

What an embarrassingly inaccurate, stupid and entitled thing for him to say. I agree a couple of the bins were 50/50 and we got the rub of the green from Sutton for once. Now all of a sudden we are the ref's pets.

                          Give me a break.

I agree with another poster that I have grave concerns for the safety of the real Sutton, as that was definitely not him last night.
