The game is at the SCG, not Newcastle. Similar forecast though.

Must have been looking at Norths and Jersey Flegg playing in Newcastle and assumed NRL was the same - Those games have been transferred to Cessnock

Be worse conditions in Sydney after all the rain though-from today mostly cloudy days with light showers leading up to Saturday

Saturday SCG - Cloudy with mid morning showers clearing to a Sunny afternoon - temperatures 24 min to 25 max - humidity 55% - Winds -East to North East @ 17 to 20 km/h

NRLW - Sydney Roosters vs Newcastle Knights @ 1:50 pm - Live on Channel 9

Is it then SG Ball then Harold Matthews?

Does it go HMatts, SG Ball, Jersey Flegg, Sydney Shield, Ron Massey Cup, NSWRL KOE Cup, NRL?

Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield are open age comps so players too old for Jersey Flegg and not signed by an NRL Team or a NSW Cup team can play in these 2 comps.

So I would assume the natural progression for Male players would be through the various age based junior rep sides to reggies then to NRL -those that don't progress that far can still keeping playing in Ron Massey Cup and or Sydney Shield to keep the dream alive as they say - it has worked out for several players as per below.

For Female players - it's Tarsha Gale Cup then NSW Womens Premiership then NRLW - i think there are some local comps for those that don't make it that far to keep playing and some junior comps - They will need to look at that setup as the Women's game progresses towards full time professional status.- more local comps and junior reps etc

            NSWRL
            • Andrew Johns Cup (Under 16's)
            • Harold Matthews Cup (Under 17's
            • Laurie Daley Cup (Under 18's)
            • SG Ball (Under 19's)
            • Tarsha Gale Cup (Under 19's)
            • Jersey Flegg (Under 21's)
            • KOE NSW Cup (Open Age)- 2nd Tier Comp
            • Harvey Normans NSW Women's Premiership (Open Age)- Maybe Tier 1 comp as NRLW is a short season and this comp is usually played before the NRLW season
            NSWRL Major Competitions
            • Ron Massey Cup (Open Age) - 3rd Tier Comp
            • Sydney Shield (Open Age) - 4th Tier comp

            NRL- Tier 1 Comps
            • Men's
            • NRLW

Sydney Roosters have a partnership with the Kaiviti Silktails who have a side in the Ron Massey Cup - a few of their players did play for the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup for the Sydney Roosters in 2021.

Not sure if they are a feeder team for the North Sydney Bears as well as Hills District Bulls who have teams in bother Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield ? ( The Marschke Brothers/ Thomas for instance were playing Ron Massey Cup at the start of last season- Benny Marschke and Benny Thomas went onto play NRL and Jessie Marschke NSW Cup and may have been on the NRL extended Bench as well)

The Sydney Roosters have extended the Partnership with the Kaiviti Silktails by entering a side in the Sydney Shield - they will play as the Sydney Roosters.

The players in this team I understand will be those not getting much game time with the Sydney Roosters in Jersey Flegg or for the Kaiviti Silktails in Ron Massey Cup.

This Sydney Shield Sydney Roosters side will be the feeder team for the Kaiviti Silktails Ron Massey Cup Side

Thanks King. I think there is a President Cup as well.

I like seeing some of the young guys from last season. Hutch, Baker, Walker, then a few of the reserves.
is Verills injured? Im surprised hes not in the team.

I'm still not convinced walker will play 80 mins at 5/8 .He will move to half at various stages in the game depending what robbo has worked out with the pair of them.

With all due respect to Hutch, I would probably had AK on the bench. As a faster player than Hutch he may have been a better option to give Waston a spell at Hooker. He could also play in the backline if one of the 1-7 was to go down on a wet track. Anyways TIT

Yeah he's playing centre for Norths isn't he?

If one of the backline goes down it will be Watson, Sitili or Angus who would push out to the centres. Keighran is down the order a fair way I think now that we have most of our players back on deck
