    Wonderful news ....

TRENT ROBINSON EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH ROOSTERS

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Head Coach Trent Robinson has extended his contract by a further five years.

Currently contracted until the end of the 2023 season, the extension ensures that Robinson – the longest-serving coach in the Foundation Club’s 114-year history – will remain at the helm until at least the conclusion of the 2028 season.

Roosters Chairman, Mr Nick Politis AM, said Robinson was to be commended for his strong leadership and ethos.

“In my view, Trent is the game’s best thinker. He is a man of high integrity with a genuine love for his players, the history of our Club and the area we represent,” said Mr Politis AM.

“Every player that we have signed since Trent came on board as Head Coach in 2013 has become a better player and person, and it’s wonderful to know that Trent will continue to lead the way at the Roosters well-into the future,” he added.

Robinson spoke with pride about the position he will continue to hold with the Club until at least the end of 2028.

“This Club has been the biggest part of my working life; it is unequivocally my home,” said Robinson.

“The Roosters is in my DNA, and as a leader, my role here is pretty clear. Walking in to our offices every day, seeing the quality of staff and players we have here, we’re all committed to striving to be the best sporting franchise in Australia, and I’m incredibly proud to extend my time with the Club,” he added.

What fantastic news this is. He is easily our greatest ever coach and arguably signing.

Great news, hopefully puts to rest the ludicrous suggestion that he was going to move to France anytime soon.

        Awesome news

Guaranteed he will replace Uncle Nick as Chairman in the future. He’s being groomed for it.

Our future is in good hands

This is great news for our club. A new stadium, world class talent, a critical thinker with elite support staff, our future is in safe hands through the 20’s.

I love how much passion Robbo has for making our players better footballers and better human beings too. That cannot be understated. He is a man of integrity and Uncle Nick recognises that too!!

          Pumped for 2022 and beyond

Excellent news. By far one of the greatest coaches that's ever coached at the Roosters and I'm sure in due time he'll be in the conversation for the G.O.A.T !!!

Disappointed not 10 or 20 years, I'm sure longer contract were offered. Great news nevertheless!

                    I’d lose anyone before Robbo.

                    Robbo is King.

Where are all those who said he’s going back to France?

As I sit around on long service leave, I raise a glass to Robbo for his endurance! He's had holidays but no time away from the one job. Nick's the same. I respect their respective abilities to not just keep turning up but also to remain fresh, charismatic and innovative.

Can't lie... I'm currently worn-out, depressed, directionless and stale. While I possess the tech skills to go on (and am happy/plesant), I no longer want to. Also, I'm sick of dealing with a bunch of big personalities (the kind I just hold my breath and smile at as they know everything).

Robbo's special. I get the feeling he enjoys his job as much as I enjoy my hobbies (e.g. jogging, mountain bike riding, fixing retro gaming consoles...etc). Coaching Easts and constantly researching the game more and more will never get boring to him. Such a find! He's got the right head about it too... knows it all but makes those around him feel $1m dollars rather than constantly trying to prove to them that he's the business.

Nothing stopping him returning to France before the contract expires, as we all know contracts mean nothing in the NRL.

In saying that I don't see Robbo walking out beforehand unless there is some family reasons and he would give us plenty of notice.
Also there is almost no risk in him getting sacked, a bad season for him is us in the bottom half of the top 8 and we will never get a wooden spoon while he is in charge.

I don't see what the rush was to resign him, he might get offered big money to go elsewhere but Nick would go close to matching it and why would he sign with a team struggling on and off the field.
