Didn't realise this originally when the draw came out but we no longer have our traditional Good Friday clash with the Broncos.

Last year Anzac Day and Good Friday fell within days of each other so it couldn't happen.

It will be strange after all these years not to have the traditional game but I'm heading up to the Gold Coast for Easter anyway so I can actually get to this game for a change. My uncle is going with me even though he is a Broncos fan.

Looks like the boys will be spending the Easter period on the road.

I thought they were going to schedule a Thursday night game on Good Friday Eve, they should have!

maybe I can enjoy Easter this year - our record was not that great against the ponies on Good Friday

I am not surprised given our poor record in recent years. We don't have the clout we once had to be awarded these type of premium fixtures.

We lost the good friday game last year when we chose playing on ANZAC day over it (the correct choice IMO).

Problem is, the good friday clash against brisbane used to be our highest or 2nd highest drawing crowd every year (depending on whether ANZAC day was our home game or not), and now we've lost it.

Still can't get over how stupid our game in the NT is as well. I don't care how much we get paid for moving games out of town, the best way to make money is consistently making the finals and the best way to do that is to develop a strong home ground advantage.

                        It's ludicrous

The AFL teams that play these Darwin games struggle to recover and win the week after too

I reckon the Tigers may have stolen the Good Friday fixture against Broncs - from memory they had it last year as well when we couldn't have it. Note it is at SFS/Allianz as well as I suspect it was last year.

Am looking forward to my Darwin trip for Round 7. Everything, including ticket, all booked and paid for so just 'entertainment expenses' to be factored in.

I fail to understand why this year... last yr was understandable... I loved the good friday game never missed one, always a great crowd ... didnt win too many of them. I remb one yr might have been 04 broncos kicked off Freddy got the ball and we scored a miricale try within 30 seconds... still got that back page of the tele signed on my wall by freddy.

Has anyone considered this is why we are chasing $BW and Qualude???

Big TV games go to those clubs who have the big names. Why??? They get ratings. You get the big TV games you get the big $$$ from the sponsors.

We have lost our star power. Mini and Bwaiff are old, their time has past.

JWH would still pull the ratings, like Mozz did.

But to get the real big games, the real big $$$ you need something we don't have ATM.

That's not to say we don't have some good kids with pootential. Thing is pootential don't win comps and dont pull ratings and $$$.

                              It's all about cash people's.

It's been our quietist media build up in my lifetime. We used to always lead the media articles, whether that be good or bad news.

That's why I believe we will sign a few big names, it's our way. There's still a chance we could develop our pootential, but we are Easts we don't roll that way.
