  • Joe Suaalii

My god that photo of him today in the rain.. he looks absolutely huge. Been reading nothing but praise for this kid all off season.. even being compared to SBW recently in the media.( Based on Potential )

Really excited for this kid, we all know his potential and what he can achieve, I believe he has to be there rd 1 somewhere.

Also can he please farkin resign!! He’s the future with Sammy.

Pretty sure he's got player options in his contract for another couple of years doesn't he?

Sadly I think he will chase a fullback position somewhere else but hopefully we can get a couple of years out of him before then.

Might have even been for the Bears but I believe it was his first or second game of first grade last season, he got the ball on the 5th tackle and from nothing almost got a freakish pass or regather away which would have been a try.

He is all class, big time.

His mentor is Joey Manu, given what Manu did and stayed loyal to the club, I would highly doubt Suaali would leave as well. But if he takes up his player options, I think that will play perfectly into our timings, given that he and Manu will resign till 2024, by then, Teddy and Kez will be about 32, not too sure if they will stick around for much longer. But as soon as they wrap up, that opens up a spot in the halves for Manu and fullback for Suaali. Given that they are mentor and mentee, that's already going to give them chemistry and if they'll be playing with Sammy these next 2-3 years, they should be aligned perfectly with him assuming the 7 role and taking control of the team.

I think that could be the future in 2025:
            1. Suaali
            6. Manu
            7. Walker
            9. Cheese
            8. Collins
            10. Haas

Then the likes of the other up and comings the Butchers, Va'as will be sprinked into that core lineup.

If someone could kindly upload that photo of him on here it would be greatly appreciated, I would but the site wouldn’t allow me to.

              thank you

Can't add a photo, but there's an article about Cronk saying how much bigger he has gotten.

So where areTeddy and Kez going in 2025 ? they turn 32 in Jan and Feb 2025 respectively, still a good 3 years to play after that. I doubt they will both retire or move elsewhere when they are 31 at seasons end 2024. Barring career ending injury I think they will both be with us til the end of 2027. Haas is under contract til end of 2024 and has been offered an extension to 2027.

Dolphins (and others) will be throwing big money at both Keary and Teddy. The question will be asked at what point is an improving Suaalii worth more than an ageing Teddy? It will be the same for Walker vs Keary.

I suspect we will lose Keary to the Dolphins in a couple years' time but Teddy will hang around another year or so. Hopefully Suaalii realises the fullback spot will be his for a decade after Teddy leaves.

How about the cheeky no look pass for sitili’s try after the big step and fend on Kris.

Or when he carried 5 titans on his back and almost scored, then got up with a fast play the ball and set up iku’s dummy half dive over try as the line was on their heels.

He has great defensive technique too. Pulled off some great one on ones last season, all at 17.

Kid can definitely play and will be a star, that is why I am so keen on seeing him resign.

I don't think Teddy or Kez will be going anywhere, they will more than likely finish their careers at the Roosters, and Suaali has played 5 games and doesn't turn 19 til August this year, so i think it is ridiculous at the moment to suggest he will push teddy out of fullback in 2025.
Certainly it's all conjecture at the moment, but as for getting plenty of big offers, I am sure Suaali will get plenty of those too IF he lives up to expectations, let's see if he can cement a first grade spot on the wing first.

We can't use up that much of the salary cap retaining Keary and Teddy until retirement. Especially when we already have suitable replacements that could dominate for a long time to come. Something will give. Retire a little earlier, look elsewhere, or lose Suaalii.

There is no way Teddy is retiring at 31 and there is no way we would let him go. He is our captain and under Nick and Robbo will have a contract for life just like all previous captains have had under Robbo & Nick.
