  • Healthy Competition for starting spots.

    2nd Row- Sitili, Butcher bros.
    Wing- Suaalii B.Smith, Naiqama, Karavelu.
5/8-Walker, Hutch, Lam (I know Hutch is limited but he does the little things right)

Personally Sitili is not an 80 minute player not yet anyway, Egan is a gun just needs to fix up ball security and Nat well you get 100% out of him which is mostly for his great defence.

I like B.Smith have been a fan ever since he debuted Suaalii is a work in progress but already great defence and composure. I like both they just need to stay fit.

Walker off the bench once forwards tire bring him on or start him and let him do his thing with Keary? Lam I don’t why I included him he won’t get a run at all if everyone else is fit, emergency backup backup?

Forwards are pretty settled just who does Ice’s job?

    Thoughts?

Robbo made it out in an interview some time ago that Atoni had a similar skill set to Liu.

Speaking of Liu, I am currently on holiday on the GC with my family. Every time I am in the car I tell my kids to look out for Isaac. They just roll their eyes at me. Last night we are at a restaurant in Broadbeach and guess who walks straight by us?

We spoke with Isaac and told him he’s always a Rooster in our eyes and we still loved him. He was very friendly. He was pushing a pram and also had his partner/wife with him.

It's a nice change compared to last year

I think that the 17 is pretty set but I think guys like Whyte will be gunning for a spot, the way he's going he will be after Sitilli's jumper also Hau Tapuha took full advantage of the limited game time last year.

in the outside backs the only certainties are toops and joey. we've paid good money for momorovski, and maybe that's got something to do with him being a goal kicker, but i don't think he's clearly ahead of the others. you'd figure suaalii is a star in the making and you'd like to give him the chance to develop but billy smith hasn't been able to put a full season together and he'll be in the mix. kevin naiqama is probably the safest bet for the wing in game 1.

walker will be our 7 but robbo might want to ease him through the season - hutch wouldn't let anyone down.

interested to see how robbo uses watson - apart from covering for injuries will he be exclusively a dummy half or will he play a bit of lock as well?

three of our props will be jwh, tauks and lindsay, but the fourth spot is up for grabs. butch will also be on the bench.

I don’t think Renouf Atoni is purely for The Bears. The way Robbo spoke of him I’m expecting a Sam Moa
              type resurgence from him.

That’s interesting what you say about Atoni if he can replicate what Ice did for us it would be enough I have been critical of Liu in the past, was a quiet achiever he definitely missed.

Yeah that’s exactly how I would imagine Liu to be just a humble guy and a total gentleman I have had a photo with him, but didn’t want to bother him too much the photo alone was an awesome moment Toops is another just absolute gentleman along with JWH, have picture with them three and Mick Jennings.

During an interview with Bloke in a Bar, Politis singled out Whyte as a guy with a massive future ahead of him. My guess is that he's been ticking all the right boxes at training.

Apart from injuries i think our only problems are:

Walker playing a whole season, can he?
2nd row providing punch / 2nd phase attack.
Hooker. Is Verrills up to it or disillusioned and wants to leave.

I agree, both players look to have a lot of potential and I think we will be seeing a bit of them this year.
I think Sitilli got way more game time than expected this year due yo injuries etc It will be interesting to see if he can grow into a more complete 80 minute player this year. I still think he did a great job as a mainstay through adversity last year before he was really ready.

I've heard through the grapevine that he has put on 8kg of bulk and like you said when Nick single's out one player he's usually right.
