DEVELOPMENT PLAYERS: Ben Marschke, Tuku Hau Tapuha, Ronald Volkman

Saw this online this morning, so we have room for 2 more players in a top 30, but do we have any money? I guess they leave room because some of the development players may be added to the top squad during the season.

We will leave one spot open for smithy..... just in case.
I think Ben Marschke and Tapuha will move up.

I am sure Ben Thomas is also contracted for 2022- Not sure if it's an NRL or a Development Contract- Also Vuate Karawalevu is contracted for 2022 although again not sure of the contract type

I don’t think he’ll be at the Roosters next year Jack.
He wouldn’t be in the top 20 players & he is behind Keary, Hutch & Keighran plus Watson is No 14. I’m glad he loves the Roosters because he’ll be watching a lot of their games.
Im not trying to be smart Jack but I’m surprised Souths don’t make a play for him.

Sounds like he will play out his contract next year, but I highly doubt he will be signed beyond that!

We would have to be decimated with injury as bad as this year for Lam to get a run.

The only thing I can imagine is the Lam will remain as a back-up for the halves.

Presumably Robbo has other plans for Watson.

Biggest mystery is where Hutchison fits in.

Hutch will end one of two ways I think - another club will throw quite good money at him and he'll leave (most likely) OR Robbo still thinks Walker isn't ready and Hutch will play a lot of the season beside Keary.

I've considered that Hutch could make quite a good Anasta-esque second rower, but I dont see it happening with our plethora of better options there already.

Apparently promising East's junior Luca Moretti has been snapped up by the Eels.
Sadly we can't keep 'em all

Yeah he has I posted about this a few weeks ago.. good luck to the kid their fans seem pretty happy about the signing and who knows with what’s happening over there with their continuous dumb management, he could be making a debut sooner then expected.

Yeah, not to sound harsh but from an outsider’s view … as mentioned above, we would have to be absolutely ‘annihilated’ with injuries and all other contingency options would have to be utilised before Lam would get another starting call up again !

If we look at the lads in front of him … he’ll be watching from home or focusing playing for the Bears (if that) a lot in season 2022.

                          Ahead of Lachlan Lam:
                          • Obvious Starting 6 and 7 = Keary and Walker
                          • Connor Watson
                          • Drew Hutchinson
                          • Adam Keighran
                          • Ronald Volkmann
                          • Fa'amanu Brown

Not to mention with the recent addition of a few backs, Joey Manu would also be a preferred choice to slot into the halves as a back-up option instead of Lam.

Souths already tried to sign Hutch this year before they got Milford as he has a relationship with Demetriou, he resigned with the Roosters as he said he's happy with his role and still has much to learn.

I agree that he could possibly work out as a second rower similar to Wade Graham or Ryan Matterson and has been trialed there but only in patches so far.

It wouldn't shock me if he starts round 1 in the #6 and Walker spends a bit longer in ressies

I’m not Lam’s biggest fan but to suggest Lam is behind Volkman and Brown is ludicrous.
