Big night at the retirment village John? Agree on Carney. If he holds the ball he can get us going forward early in the set. He won't hold his place when our centres come back in.

As for our style of play last night This was a deliberate ploy due to a weakened backline The coaching staff had us playing to our strengths last nioght That strength is our monster forward pack Throw in a couple of specialist centres on each side of the field I think you weill see a more adventurous football team
I am confident we will have a decent yearWhen you trust your television
what you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information
they can bend it all they want

Perrett tries so hard but his handling and taking of bombs is so ordinary.
Carney tried hard too but he just isn't a first grader/
We will be a lot stronger with Braith and Moga in the team.
We just don't have a go to man.
I thought Mitchell Aubo was out best player. Very strong defensively.

Our options on the last tackle were shocking. In the first half it was much better but in the 2nd half we had no direction there. We need to work on that ASAP.... Get some structure and get some direction, and Jnr Jnr needs to stand up and lead the boys around the park.

Pearce is not putting bombs 5-10 metres too far.
If we had faster outside backs, or a younger fullback (think Gardner/Coote etc.), there would be people under those bombs.
Let's be honest, our best under the contest is Anasta...
Pretty pathetic.
What I don't get is why when Carney left our grubbers went too.

It is frustrating that we don't grubber anymore especially when in the trials Kheirallah was doing it very successfully. Probably last night was a bad night to judge on that though cos i'm pretty sure we scored on every set we had inside their 20.
It is a balance though. Is it better to contest a bomb twenty metres out, or put one right on the dot, on the tryline, and hope Mini finds some speed in the old legs? (Glad he saved it for that last play mind you.)
Braith will help, if he is back next week. He'll be named this arvo without a doubt.

Some of you blokes are a bit harsh.
We were without our captain and at least two other back line players were out, we had two midgets on the wings, we had two back rowers in the centres, a new 5/8, a prop who looked rustier than rusty, two players over the age of 25 in the 17 and we played against a very good pack and some very questionable officiating.
It was also rnd 1 and looked pretty greasy out there.
And somehow we still pulled a flabbit out our our arse.
You could see the boys never gave in. They pushed till the fat lady belted out an LOL@Souffs.
I find it hard to be too critical of that effort. Sure we need to improve, but I reckon every coach will be thinking the same thing. At least that effort gives us something to aim at weekly and teaches the kids to never die wondering.
It's a long season and we will have to use the Carnteys, MitchMitchells and Aronas often. I say embrace those fringe players, they will prove to be the difference overall between making the 8 or not.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

No changes needed.
Our game plan was perfect. Tire big boys for 77 minutes and then throw the ball around.
I think MK needs some time in Newtown to get fit and a bit of game time under his belt.
Moga and Anasta should be back this week. Probably at the expense of Carney and Morts. Although I couldn't really fault Carney. Solid in defense AT CENTRE and some good hit ups. Played better than BJ and Pez IMO. Maubs should stay in the centres until SKD comes back.
I would bring in Taka for Marty and Bosden for Arona.
