Awesome work at the start from Pearce. He's always been a very good cross field runner just never uses it. He might not have the acceleration that Carney had to cut through once one of the defenders stops sliding and backs away to create the hole but he still has the evasiveness and lateral speed to bring players out of the line. Once that starts to happen and inside defenders miss tackles the centres or second rowers hesitate which causes the men outside them to go off task and cover for them by moving up on the runner creating the overlap. That break was Farrell's fault cos he expected his inside man to make the tackle coming out of the line and he forgot to keep sliding just in case. It helped that Aubs is such a good angle runner and knew to cut in behind Inglis. I think Pearce needs to go to this more often without being predictable. It's certainly a move that would suit Kenny-Dowall once he comes back into the side.Comment

The key in this was Cordner.
The kid kept his cool, just casually put it on the toe and the rest is history now. If he had of rushed it, or panicked, it wouldn;t have come off.
Mini was always gonna run that line, the kick had to be spot on.... it was !!! Well done Boyd!
