I only read here too that he was supporting an anti vax freedom march on his instagram. It was reported also that the Roosters had a number of players still unvaxxed so putting 2 and 2 together. The Storm have an issue with NAS refusing to get vaccinated, so one year of SST before he went to Catalans might be a trade the Storm would be willing to take to release B Smith early.

This is an amazing signing. He is perfect for the modern game, powerful fast and a much better dummy half than he is given credit for. IMHO he was the Storms best player this year, alongside incredibly another player they let go, Nicho Hynes. With little input from either in the Prelim final, it's no surprise they got beaten.

Yeah I thought he there may be something on Twitter or Instagram. It seems like a well established narrative. I would think SST would want to get vaccinated if he plans to travel to France.

I don't think Roosters would mind picking him up at full price which is probably less that what he will be earning in 2023. In any case it won't be full price because Storm would have already paid Smith a decent amount as we did with Mitchell.

Put first the Dogs, Strom, Warriors and Eels before us for the reason there is a salary cap and you've got yourself a deal. Even though the time isn't now, i'm more curious/excited about who will step up to replace JWH when he's done.

Harry Grant's signed 'till the end of 2022 (presumably earning pittance) with an option for 2023. I think the Drizz will wanna have both of 'em for as long as possible. Also, Smith isn't costed into the 2023 season so there's no overlap.

My only reason to justify an early release is that the Drizz have made the call on Harry Grant. If they're gonna bench a Dally M #9 in favour of a 15-20 minute #14 then I think the right thing is to allow him to leave so that he can play #9 in 2022.
