With Luke Keary returning next season will Teddy be sharing the captaincy role?

What’s to say that if Keary didn’t go down last season that he would not have been given the captaincy. Teddy has certainly excelled in the position and proven he’s a leader but with Luke back should he be captain and/or sharing the role?

Teddy has been exceptional in my books which was a surprise.

I think Robbo will go back to shared captaincy. I think Teddy has epitomised leadership through his performance this year. But I think the shared role shared the load and promotes higher accountability on them both, in key positions.

Teddy has demonstrated why he deserves to retain the Captaincy but Keary hasn’t done anything to lose it either. So safe bet for them to both retain it.

About to go on a tangent here ... (apologies in advance)

I'm not saying that the "Squid Games" comment/incident has done anything critical to impact Teddy's standing within the club or within the game but surely the NRL who fined him $10,000 for behaving “in a drunken and disorderly manner” and bringing the game into disrepute after an investigation, would be looking at the Roosters club and NSW State of Origin commitee/coaching staff with a raised eyebrow or two. Now with that being said, I do believe it would be wise to appoint Luke Keary and Teddy as Co captains for a few reasons:

        1. It lightens the load on Teddy.
        2. Allows Keary who will be the primary play-maker in the spine to call the shots from a tractical point of view.
        3. More accountability from both players.
        4. Minor damage control from the Roosters (in relation the "Squid Games" issue).

Unfortunately, the minor indiscretion even though the club has come out and said "there's nothing to answer" still could cause an issue with role model representation, reputation, brand, image, optics etc both for the Roosters and NSW, therefore perhaps this may be the right call to make for the club in season 2022.

Fair points. The Teddy brand is a little damaged after the recent publicity but I do think it will be old news soon. At least he didn’t do a flying karate kick at someone’s head in a street fight or shit in a corridor or snort lines on video or dry hump a dog or dance naked on mad Monday or send a dick pic or bash a family….

Why would the NRL be looking at us and NSWRL with a raised eyebrow? It's hardly even worthy of a news story let alone something to lose the captaincy over.

I'm not saying that he's going to lose the captaincy, but the end result was/is that he was fined for an incident that according to the NRL "brought the game into disrepute". From that issue whether it was/is news worthy or not, he is the incumbent Captain of a powerful and well-known club (even though hated and despised by many) and an in-form Origin side (NSW) and this incident unfortunately has caused a small blemish on his reputation. Both team roles as Captain brings great responsibility and scruitny.

There are enough naysayers out there in the NRL and media that will take any opportunity to throw mud at the club or anyone affiliated with the club. Basically, what I'm saying is that Keary and Teddy will probably end up as Co Captains and Teddy's most latest incident has probably added some unnecessary weight to that decision.

I'd still love to see JWH as Captain.

The halves and Teddy still direct the team and make the decisions anyway

JWH is the heart of the team, give him the C and watch the old pig go mental and fire up his troops

….and pick up some more frequent flyer points at the judiciary.

I think he’d be great too.

I think he’d do very well as a captain.

Teddy as a stand alone captain is fine, but Teddy and Luke as co captains is fine too, and Teddy and JWH as co captains is my preferred option.
