I cant wait for Rd 3.
    Go THE MIGHTY ROOSTERS.
Where's Comrade Paddo Colt he will say they are billionaires because they exploited the workers who are forced to sell their labor power to capitalists for less than the full value of the commodities they produce with their labor.

The ultimate source of profit, the driving force behind capitalist production, is the unpaid labor of workers that forms the foundation of the evil capitalist system.

yea you cant spend more on players with cap, but my understanding although limited is that there are definite advantages to being at a wealthy club like souffs and the chooks.

i think 1 unamed player says he stayed at i think it was roosters or melbourne, in an interview he sort of said yea i could get more elsewhere, but if i stay here, we eat in better restaurants, stay in better hotels, have better facilities, prob better parties, plus business option at career end.

We don't have individual billionaire owners. The team has been owned since 1908 by the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club Limited who are owned by its members.

Souths feel the need to to say the Roosters have no soul to distract from the fact they sold theirs off....much to the dismay of club legend George Piggins who went to extraordinary lengths to bring them back into the competition only to be shat on. 1 premiership in the last 50 years is about what they deserve

It's amazing also, the number of times in the media you read and hear that Nick Politis owns the Roosters when the only club anywhere near Bondi that is the plaything of multi-millionaires is Souffs! And our chairman has a character streets ahead of the well-known owner of that other club who has a chequered past involving incidents known AND UNKNOWN to the general public!

With a salary cap they could have Gates, Muak and Buffet as owners - it makes no difference if your management is crap.

IMO they're in for a classic Wayne Bennett hangover. He loaded up on outside backs and sacked Reynolds as his parting gift to Easts fans.

I'm starting to like the guy...

I am happy that they have become a billionaires club. It tarnishes their reputation as a "battler" club, very happy for them to become the most-hated silvertails in the comp.

It took Manly about 40 years to recover from that image.

The ironic thing is that those Souffs owners would cross the street if they saw any of 99% of the people that make up the Souffs fanbase coming along.

Crowe + Packer + Cannon-Brookes < Uncle Nick. They are not called bunnies for no reason.

I'd like to hope that really goes without saying. Nick Politis has more integrity and love of league in his pinkie than...those fine, upstanding gentlemen (who have expensive lawyers) have collectively, in my opinion.

                          Exactly mate.

IMO an important part of our history is that a lot of wogs like Politis and Bouris came here because it was less desirable. Some ended up making $$$ and property prices rose, so everybody got jealous. However, when I go to Easts games there's a mixed bag of fans (most aren't living in Double Bay mansions... like me, many grew up in Paddington terraces and stuff before Paddington was hip).

Souffs? To me what people need to understand is that:
                          - There's no catchment area called 'South Sydney' and the one player in the comp who's from Redfern was sacked. He now plays for Brisbane. I say this because they're the ones who always sell the story of having awesome juniors. We seem to have come to peace with the fact it's a professional sport & there's no requirement that all players must be born within 100m of your home stadium.

                          - They don't have a home stadium. So again... they're not an actual footy zone. Absolute joke!

                          - They have owners who are expected to cough-up rather than an actual business plan. Again... Tim Freedman wrote a song about pokies so they're evil. Being owned by a casino baron and sponsored by a large casino (while concurrently having TAB all over them) is cool though... totally not gambling. IMO there's a disconnect between how 'evil' it is to have a few pokies at a Leagues Club and the reality of how much bigger casinos/TAB/Sportsbet...etc are.

                          - Most of their fans today are rich white people who bought into their story of 'battling'. One thing I'll give them is that unlike the Drizz, they did shyte for about a decade while building up a roster. They now have $$$ (Versace suits...etc in the changerooms) and an established roster.

                          - Apparently they're the indigenous club. However, they just sacked Reynolds (random), Roberts (didn't wanna deal with his welfare issues) and Gagai. Further, they've played Latrell like a fool (after getting his dad addicted to amphetamines, and leaving him with nothing). IMO they can fly that indigenous flag all they want and pretend that's what Redfern's all about. On the other hand, Easts launched the careers of guys like Watson and Latrell. They were also willing to engage with Fergo's welfare issues (to everybody's benefit). While he doesn't identify (his call), we engaged with Friend's welfare issues and he captained our club. IMO Souffs are just pretenders on this front... they don't care about anybody (whereas we care about building human beings, no matter who/what they are). Souffs just milk their indigenous 'heritage' to lure players in, under a false promise that they'll give them a better run.

On another site the Vermin Souffs folk are spruiking that they are now the richest club in the league .

Not sure they understand that this Cannon-Brooks fellow only purchased 1/3 of Blackcourt league investments whom own 75% of Vermin Souffs the other 25% owned by Souffs Members. He is not handing over all his assets to Vermin Souffs.

Vermin Souffs actually have no assets which generate income or revenue - Crowe is walking away at the end of next season and no doubt the associates of Packer and Cannon-Brooks one day will too.

Be ironic if the Chooks purchased Crowe's 1/3 interest in Blackcourt league investments and became one of the parties owning 75% of Vermin Souffs

As Inspector Blake "Blakey" often said on the On the Buses Show "That's made my day that has "
