I don't know about a lot of top class players going back. How many young guys have we had over the years from Queensland who have gone back while at their peak? Then look at the last few years SOO players. Current players like Ponga, Munster, DCE, Grant never/don't look like going back. I don't think heading back to Queensland is that high priority.

I understand all that. I was saying that Sammy's current contract will have no bearing on whether or not we keep Manu. If Manu leaves, he will be long gone before Walker's contract even becomes an issueOriginally posted by Mickie Lane View Post
Contracts are hardly worth the paper they are written on. If both parties are happy they work if 1 party becomes unhappy they dont work.
The player will get his money but he might not be playing for the team that is paying him.
In regards to Sammy Walker this may happen, he signs with the Dolphins for 2024 & the Roosters release him from his 2023 contract so he then starts at the new franchise in 2023. Dont think it cant happen.

I’m still upset about releasing tuipolotu. Thought he was going to be great especially under robbo. Let’s not forget woth sualii that he’s got the greatest weapon in modern times that no other young talent has had. The great Trent Robinson.Originally posted by Mickie Lane View Post
I hope Sammy becomes as good as predicted at the Chooks but it's always a gamble signing Queenslanders who are top class players because for some reason alot of them want to play for a Qld team who go hard chasing them. I dont know maybe not with Sam but all his footy loving family are up in Qld & Im sure they would like the idea of watching him nearly every week live playing up in Qld. The Dolphins will go real hard for him I feel.
The jury is still out for me on Suaalii & also a little bit on Walker.
Its hard to tell how things will pan out for Suaalii. That Christian Tuipulotu was the next big thing after Tau Tau Moga & before him Ryan Williamson. I hope he turns into a world beater & doesnt always get injured.

The Storm managed to keep the beating heart of Queensland in Melbourne for 10 plus years.Originally posted by Mickie Lane View Post

Hopefully Robbo can have as much influence on players wanting to stay in the roosters system as Bellamy does at the Storm

Only because of Bellamy & that wont happen again. I bet you $100 that Munster, Walker or Ponga sign to the Dolphins.Originally posted by Bondicigar View Post

They literally rorted the salary cap to an extreme level for years to do it, Cameron Smith was heading to the Gold Coast until they negotiated second contractsOriginally posted by Bondicigar View Post
