I predict another QLD team to make it 18- one of the two that missed out - they may even join forces to make another bid - if so 2 conferences - Sydney one with 9 teams and a 9 Team non Sydney one as follows- 25 rounds - Surely QLD can have more than 4 teams

1st - 8 games - play teams in your conference
2nd - 9 games - play teams in the other conference once
3rd - 8 games - play teams in your conference a second time

      Finals series

Top 5 with conference winners playing off super bowl style

      or

Top 4 from each group cross over finals series - similar to the current one

Qualifying finals - winners to week 3 - losers to week 2

      1 vs 2

Elimination Finals- Winners to week 2 and losers elimiated

      3 vs 4

Can just see the players in the dressing room after a win, gathered in a circle bellowing out their victory song ....

Everyone loves the king of the sea,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
And how they laugh when he's near!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
            Flying there-under, under the sea

IMO 17 teams is too many... they should be getting rid of either the Souffs or the Drizz so that we have 16 teams.

I think it would be quite uplifting to hear a packed stadium sing that theme.

Also makes me wonder why nobody ever changed these lyrics for SKD:

"His hands are flippers, flippers, handling is frightening... etc"

Must love his footy ay (or be doing it to setup his kids, two of whom have disabilities).

Side note, he got divorced this year and his wife's been the one looking after the kids while he's off coaching. Not criticising the guy (I have NFI about his personal life and he's probably an awesome, selfless, caring dude...etc by the sound of it). However, it makes me wonder why he doesn't retire and spent these years with his kids (not like he's short of cash...etc).

Get rid of Souffs again ... this time permanently. Perfect

Two of his 3 kids are severely disabled so his major worry is what happens to them when he and his ex wife eventually pass on. So his main priority is earning enough $$$ to make sure they're looked after when they're gone.

An awesome, selfless caring dude who left his wife to look after their two disabled kids so he could hook up with a much younger woman, only for her to get sick of seeing 'old guy junk' and dump him soon after. The whole Bennett facade is a joke. I have had no time for him ever since he backed out on his deal to coach us and left us screwed for the next 3 or 4 years chasing our tails.

He began dating the lady in question when he was at Newcastle which was about 4 or 5 years ago & was walking with her through Botany cemetery about 1 month ago. How do I know because I saw them whilst driving out of the cemetery after a funeral I had been on. If it’s not the same women then he knows another good looking 48 YO women. They were holding hands & walking a dog.

I think he is like some senior managers i know - delegate the work to others and has an overseeing role and not a hands on one.
