Completion rates can be over hyped due to the fact that we won both the 18-19 comps with poor completion rates, BUT when a lot of our star players went down this year we needed to simplify our game plan. Complete high and kick to the corners. You would hear a lot of this chat from Robbo, Teddy etc. during the lead-up to games but we never executed on the weekend. Perhaps we did not have the players due to inefficient skill set, inexperience, constant changes to combinations but it's disappointing that week after week we did not executed the basics of the game. We are not even a high off-loading, risk taking team IMO, we just made so many simple unforced errors. Against the best teams you don't stand a chance and this is why we did not beat a top 4 team (Parramatta aside when they were in their form slump).

Our 2021 team with the constants chopping and changing out of necessity lent to the fact our completion rates were very poor....
Hopefully with all our top 17 available most of next season, our completion rates will be a lot higher. I am pretty sure this does get addressed by the coaching and leadership group but we just didn't have the cattle to complete at 80 percent or above on a consistent basis......Originally posted by Bondi Boy
Pathetic!
What a rabble we are.
Oh well, maybe next year

Completions rates are even more important nowadays as teams transition out of the overly structured multiple hit ups/out the back with decoys and kick on the last to a more less structured expansive footy game style.
This will need to be worked on in the pre-season as well as defence as I am sure Ryles will have a different approach to Fitzy and of course the kicking, discipline and improving the skills of individual players and the team in general.
A lot of work to be done to have the Chooks up top again one has to say

Well summed up, with a extremely talented team you could afford to have a lower completion rate, especially before the V'landys ball rules came into town, as a great defense could repel most attacking raids.....

If you get 2 six agains on the 4th tackle (2nd round game against Penrith this year, just after half time), you are defending upto 13 tackles. 4 + 4 + 5.

Also, the 6-agains due to poor discipline - can you really say that with objectivity? I see heaps not given when they should be given and vice versa. Total lottery imo, but an absolute beauty of a weapon if you want to 'game manage' with minimum scrutiny after the game. BTW, I'm definitely not a NRL conspiracy theorists - but it's more than obvious the 3 Klowns don't like us. It's not deliberate on their part, it's just them being normal fans and human, and I can live with that. Before that, our D could handle that. But they've now got the perfect weapon to give our opponents a leg up.
