I don't bet because it's stressful enough rooting for teams, let alone having a financial stake in it.

May not be any substance in it but a few mates who are biiiig betters (i.e. will regularly put $25k on a soccer game + have lotsa gambling contacts/strategies) have indicated that they don't touch the NRL due to various inconsistencies.
