Good enough to win a comp, but do we have the team to win? If we complete our sets, minimise errors and play the game in the opposition's area, I can see us beating the Titans and Manly. Whether we can go further remains to be seen. We have a better team than Manly but can we beat Penrith or the Storm? I reckon we could beat Penrith but I can't see us beating Melbourne. Robbo really gets us up for finals games, so I'm really excited to see how we play on Saturday. EASTS TO WIN.

Should be thinking only about the Titans game as that is only game that counts.
As I have often said the Chooks need to have high set completions rates , low errors ( losing possession , missed tackles , penalties and set restarts conceded ) agile straight defence line that works as a unit and a good long and short kicking game.
Titans are no push over so the Chooks need to bring a 80 minute A Grade game as finals are a different comp and basically one off games as you don't get any leg up or advantage by finishing higher on the ladder than your finals opponent.

In relation to high set completion rather, I think it's a mix. You wanna complete your sets while also having an enterprising attacking game. To me it's more about how your sets end that how many you complete.
For example I don't wanna see us getting a 90% completion rate because there's no passes and we're just running it straight down the middle of the field. I wanna see unsuccessful plays that COULD have led to points being scored. So it's a mix and I don't think we'll beat the Titans by simply holding onto the ball and playing a boring game of footy. We need to play footy AND have the execution there...

My concern is our defence on the edges.
I almost expect to get to round three. Will be disappointed if we don't.
I am surprised that some of the "experts" are saying that if there is to be an upset it will be in our game.

Disagree. I think our pack is below Melbourne, Penrith and perhaps Souths. We are a few signings away from being the best. IMO
Just remember that the much hyped Panthers with their endless farm of players got lapped by the Tigers when they missed half a dozen players through injury.
Meanwhile we've been beating these cellar dweller types minus 12 players.
When you look at our full strength squad for 2022, it's absolutely the best in the comp. Our bench shapes up as SST, Butcher, Butcher, Watson. Lethal.
Luck willing, we'll be just fine.

Tell me who out of the Penrith and who out of Souffs would make our starting pack.
Penrith would be Fisher-Harris (though I don't know for who) and Kikau (for Sitili maybe) then maybe Koroisau. Souffs would be Cook and that's it.

With Crighton and JMoz back in there I'm hoping our edge defence improves. It's been woeful.
Radley and JWH will tighten the defence up the middle, which has been shaky in their absence.
I'm expecting a tough game against the Gold Coast. They have players that can cause trouble if they get on a roll. They did last time we played them.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.
