Is it just me or does have Marschke on the bench provide more mongrel than having Lam

    OR
Is Lam there because of his versatility?

Manu is a bigger loss than Trell. We have so many players out that just hurts us so much more.

I can't believe how positive so many chookpen members are about our chances this year.
When you look at our team, it still looks half decent on paper.
How can this happen - we have lost about a dozen key players this year.
I just checked our odds on sportsbet - we are paying $51 to win the comp.
I know I am a Roosters optimist, but I reckon that's good odds for us as rough outsiders.

At this stage i think Lam is the better player.

But you're right, i REALLY like Marschke's confidence. That mongrel is sorely needed in a pack missing all of it's hard men (Rads, Gus, JWH, Collins all out, not to mention Cords and Friend gone too)

Probably the reason why he is regularly in the mix

Definitely considering he was a big part of holding together our already patched up team.

Its fantasy stuff thinking the Chooks can even get close to the GF or winning it.
Its over this year it was over after Rd 3.
I will be very surprised if the Chooks get over Canberra.

thats right, we dont need to get over Canberra, we need to get past the Canberra game, injury and suspension free, we cant finish above 5th, id rather play a boring Naughts team with fresh players than an inconsistant Sharks or Raiders team

I would rest Teddy he burnt himself out the week befor and the 5 day turnaround did not do them any good we are missing alot of strike ..Take 6th spot or whatever i would rather see the team put a good showing in the semis than a jaded one.

6th spot would give us the Knights, dream scenario if you ask me..

5th would also be good if the Sharks jag 8th spot, but a bigger headache if the Raiders snatch it!

It's a tricky thing trying to keep too many of our blokes rested though.

If you rest too many of our key guys at once, all of a sudden you've got a pack of kids out there with no recognised leader. And if they get hammered it could destroy their confidence for some time. Robbo won't want to risk that.

The likes of Teddy and JMoz won't be rested at all unless serious injury.

Having said that, i've always been keen to see how Toups would go in the No.1. We wouldn't see much ball playing, but those kick returns with the extra space would be great to watch.

Tupou in the No. 1, I like it. Would be a monster with the kick returns as you said.
