there we all were being united but some wanted to make this into an issue of race.

i think it works like this -
australia has a racist past;
aborigines are pissed off about that;
aborigines get pissed off when they experience racism today;
latrell experienced racism and called it out;
some people had a problem with him calling it out;
latrell makes a reckless tackle on the footy field and carries on like a pork chop;
normally what happens on the footy field stays on the footy field but not this time apparently;
some people weren't happy with latrell's anti-racist stance and want to connect that with the tackle

I most definitely wish that we can all move forward as Australians. The ugly racist incidents and practices in our country's past have surely been acknowledged by all but a few. It's not as if we don't know about it.

I'm glad you agree I'm not a POS just for being born white. But there are plenty of loons who think that is fair to say and not the very definition of racism itself. How can we move forward and live together when that kind of hate speech is condoned by many? Even turned into a pseudo-academic field - "critical race theory".

Nobody's booed him and nobody's making claims of racism. Stick to the facts and embrace fellow fans rather than searching for something to polarise discussions with!

My biggest beef is with the refs anyway. It was a dog shot sure, but the issue is that Peranara did fark all about it. Thankfully his brother isn't in out team! (No doubt he bailed at the last minute after talking to his brother).

Exactly. I abhor racism and admire Latrell for standing up to racism. However, I think the way he showed no remorse for his actions in the injury to Joey, demonstrated by the way he came back on the field after his binning, slamming balls down near players heads, suggests to me he has an attitude problem. He thinks he was the victim and did nothing wrong. It has nothing to do with the colour of his skin. Immaturity and arrogance is not defined by skin colour. The Adam Goodes situation is an entirely different situation and has absolutely nothing to do with the Latrell incident.
