  • 5 way race for Coach of the Year.

I dont think Robbo will get it but if it was left up to the other coaches I reckon Robbo would get it.
To have up to 10 players out every game & still be coming 4th is incredible. How did Penrith go when they had 6 or 7 out? They got toweled up by the Tigers.
If Souths, Manly or Parra had that many players out they wouldnt make the 8.
    Bellamy will get it.

It’s a funny one, coach of the year. Very subjective. How do the pundits assess the qualities? I’d give the minor premiers coach the award.
    ..it’ll be interesting to see

Yep I think your are probably correct on this Mr Lane. Mostly because of the winning streak achieved by the Storm this year even though they haven't won the comp yet.

I said it in another thread, that manly team is like having 8players out every week, apart from DCE and turbo, then Jake, they are relative no names.

he has done extremely well with the likes of Garrick, Saab, Harper, Parker and a rookie forward pack.

Bellamy deserves it after another incredible year.

the role of the coach is to win a premiership but they give the award before that vital bit of info is known still that's not going to change.

at this stage i'd give it to bellamy - only 2 losses, one by 4, the other by 2 and i'd have robbo 2nd but if the storm don't win it and the roosters make the prelim then robbo would be a moral winner

If the Sturm aren't still using brown paper bags tied up with Maserati keyrings to buy players, I'd be stunned.

The only way you'd get me to spend more than five minutes in Victoria, let alone Melbourne is to bung me 500k under the table.

Team of the year I would agree with you except maybe Turbo over Teddy. Teddy has been the best for several years but Turbo is having a year where he is untouchable, similar to Hayne in 2009.

Coach of the year will be Bennett, they will give it to him as a retirement present. But Bellamy probably deserves it.

Des has done a great job with that Manly side and they are far removed from the side we trounced in the first round. He has managed to reinvigorate some of the older players and I like the look of some of their young forwards I think they have real quality.
Bellamy's achievement in getting our 75' teams record is probably enough to get him over the line but for overcoming the odds in face of adversity what Robbo has achieved this year is one for the ages and I have no doubt is laying the foundations for future success with the younger brigade coming through.

That will be the reason Bellamey should get it.

Funny that with all the premierships and minor premierships we have won since 2013 that Robbo only won it in 2013 and Cleary has won it twice.

Funny thing is Johnny Melbourne very rarely buy a player & if they do its because the player is not wanted at what ever club they're currently playing at.

All their marquee players have been developed not bought. The next best team after Melbourne at developing unknown players is the Roosters & just like Melbourne its all above board.

Storm have adapted the best to the rule changes and Bellamy deserves it. Storm's development of reject backline players is also extraordinary.

Then just give them the premiership trophy now. I won't be watching if it's between them and the Bunnies. That's post-season time for the MLB anyway.

I can honestly say I'm not bias towards our team....but seriously WTF, Robbo 100% deserves this. No club, not even the Storm would be achieving what we have this season against all odds !!
