  • The Unmentionables

All the accolades go to the usual suspects like Joey, Teddy, Sam and Jared but here are others that you might remember:

Hutch-Played well in control with some excellent combos with Sam W and kneed someone that had to go off injured, except it was the wrong bloke.

Toupo-Nice carries from midfield to give a hand to the hot & sweaty forwards.

Angus- as usual his hard running and good defence.

Keighran- Now what was all that talk about his defence? He made some great tackles and though he dropped a bomb in goal, who in the backline that doesn't have a name Manu, didn't drop a bomb? Plus he did make up for that drop by catching a tough one and out jumping Lane from Parra....And yes he's no Reynolds but how good is it to have a kicker that we now have an 80% chance in scoring from them?

    Liu- Because he's a legend!

I was one who was sceptical of Keighran’s defence but he did a great job against the eels. Also Sam Verrills played quite well today too. His dummy half running game is coming back. Was that our first top four win this year?

Thought Verills looked extremely sharp out of dummy half tonight. Was awesome to see.

Absolutely sensational. Great leg speed and no fear hitting the line. Will be a mainstay in our 17 from now on i think ??

We've unearthed a couple of stars this season. He is right up there.

I'm still skeptical of our edge defence, we did such a good job in the middle that it really made defending our edges so easy I can't think of one occasion where we were out numbered on an edge and there were very few occasions where Parra were able to attack a short side on the back of a quick play the ball.

I'll save the plaudits for that until we see a few more games.

EButch was exactly what we needed last night when Jared and Liu left the field awesome carries, that wanker Brown tried to put a shot on, Egan took it well and still pushed ahead 10 meters he’s looking great, jumped ahead of Baker in the queue.

Hutch is having a great season apart from that one error last night he was great, strong running game, his passing game is coming along nicely, his general play kicking is solid, I love his defence very strong.

Since Keary and Cooper have been absent we just don’t have a great attacking kicking game Toops is not being utilised in arguably his strongest suit, if we keep Manu on the wing which after last night is absolutely critical he can be a weapon in the air also, no short kicking game I’d love to see a few more grubbers not only to build pressure but to fatigue opposition also and getting repeat sets.

Adam K looked much more comfortable last night some good defence albeit against Opacic, his goal kicking is absolutely crucial, showed he can defuse bombs also.

Sam V- lovely scoots from dummy half but has that error in him from the scrum. I’m certain he saw some lazy offside defenders, however couldn’t draw the penalties.

Manu, Teddy and JWH have the biggest motors and the heart of champions never stopped.

Gus would have to be the last guy you want to be tackled by or have to tackle every time he makes contact with opposition it’s with purpose and venom it’s just the way his built, like kissing the express train the collisions sound awfully painful lol.

Agree our completions haven’t improved either same problems different opposition.

Gotta say I thought the ref did a good job. Not too many repeats and a lot of common sense. The Parra 10m was anorexic though.

That was our first top 4 win since round 6 last year v Eels unless you count round 17 v Raiders but they weren't in the top 4 back then.

I thought SST had his best game all year. Hopefully he is over his injury now.

Agree with the rest. Hard to find any negatives apart from the completions early on.

Was a good solid effort across the park, but if we dish that up against Penrith then we will struggle. Was really impressed with Egan Butcher, looked like breaking the line every time he ran the ball and is starting to settle into his role. I thought Jared was immense early and really set the tone with his defence. Keighran was solid but I think I could match up on Opacic. Next week will tell us a lot more about him than last night did. Anyway, enjoy the weekend and cheer on the teams playing Manly and Souffs!

Keary is going to have a hard time coming back into this team at the expense of 2021 CCM winner Hutch.

                            Obviously a joke but..

His combo with Walker is developing into something special.

Which poses an early question for next year, with a fully fit squad we’d definitely have Keary and Walker in the halves, does that leave Hutch and Lam for the utility bench spot? If so I think Hutch has everything required of him to give him pole position for that spot.
