  • SST to England

    Buzz just reported on NRL360 that apparently there is some huge money on offer in England for SST and that the Roosters are likely to release him from the last year of his contract which will allow us cap space for the likes of Angus and Joey etc.

    Take with a grain of salt of course!

    Seriously? Our B2B team is being pulled apart and it wasn’t that long ago. Trust in Trent I guess.

      Might be enough cap money then to re-sign both Manu and Angus but our forward stocks will be scarce. Isaac Liu gone, if we lose SST then we've only got JWH and Collins left really.

      DSF = Work in progress
      Baker = Work in progress
      Renouf Atoni = Unknown

        I don't find it strange that Tauks might be leaving, but how on Earth could we possibly be having cap trouble? Seriously?
        I know we still have a formidable roster, but we've just lost Cordner, Friend, Morris (probably the other one too), Cronk, Mitchell, Liu, Tetevano and probably one or two others I'm missing. In place of that, we've had a few depth signings and picked up some young prospects (sure, probably some on decent money).

        I just cannot see how we could be struggling with our cap at all. What would we have done if Morris, Friend and Cordner hadn't all been forced into retirement?

          We have lost Cronk, Mitchell, Cordner, and Friend, and have already run out of money and needing to release SST?

          Buzz is a dill. If we release SST it will have more to do with succession planning than salary cap pressure.

                would be sad to see him go. not sure we've seen him fully fit this year.
                he's on good money with us and if he does go we'd be looking to get an international standard front rower in his place

                  I would have thought he would be fielding blg offers from other NRL teams, in a bit of a rut through niggling injuries but a gun goal kicking, fast stepping, hard running, Solomona punching bugger. And humble as hell, which matters to me.

                    If we can get a player like "Luke Thompson" from the UK then it may be worth releasing SST but if not then I just don't know who we go after ?!

                      My goodness what has happened to this big fella? Only last season he was considered one of the premier props, arguably the best at one stage. I understand he is 30 but have a look JWH, if Jazza can bust his ass week in week out and an older age then no excuse for Siua.

                      I wonder where it went wrong for him because he’s one of my favourites.

                      We were once comparing him to lolo or at least lolo esque.

                        We’ll miss his goal kicking.

                          To be fair we never fully gave him a serious shot at it and I would even say he wasn’t that bad for a forward. Had nice technique

                            Cordner, Friend, Morris, Morris, SST and Isaac all gone.

                            I don’t buy the “the money will be used to upgrade” bullshit.

                            We are hitting the market. Exciting times.

                              Don't leave Ben Thomas out of the mix.
                              Plays tough no fear just like his mentor JWH.
