  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Knights

Apart from SST, this is the best side we will have available for the remainder of the year. Finally we get to see what we can do with just about all on board apart from the retirees and the long term injured.

Some tough opponents are coming up so we need to start playing some decent footy and re-build the Bondi Wall. There is no reason why we can’t compete with the top sides with the squad we now have available.

Today’s game against a mid-table side is a stepping stone to building some confidence and hopefully the result will let the other teams know that The Roosters are not done yet.

    GO ROOSTERS!

6pm's a bit rough as I'll be putting my son to bed half way through it. Bloody scheduling :P

It's definitely a good test though. Ponga will be a menace... there's a fair bit of unknown in their roster too. Hopefully no matter what happens, we setup a good platform and play some proper footy.

Give the kid a couple of panadols and throw him in the pool...no worries.
Will be interesting to see what our blokes dish up.
The have yet to connect as a team or fully gel..way off it.
Gotta control the ball and respect it better .
Teddy had a holiday so expect him to have a blinder.
The Rads and Teddy show is on

Easts go into battle today against Newcastle with a major weakness......namely the right wing

Fumbles Ikuvalu will be on the receiving end on numerous bombs from the Knights

NRL coaches have pinpointed that Ikuvalu is the weak link in the Roosters team..

There is a reason why opposition kickers now kick predominantly to their left side when they play Easts

Ask yourself.....who is the better winger,Josh Morris or Fumbles Ikuvalu?

Yes because before Iku came into the team, everyone used to bomb to Tupou’s wing.

grateful that we can still watch footy. at 12 nil down last week it looked like we might be in for a tough end to the season but the boys turned it around and i hope they can build on that.

Our big chance to make the top 4 if we win tonight and beat eels next week! We are due for a run of good fortune! Eels have storm and Penrith to play so we have an excellent chance of top 4 but must win tonight and get our first win against a top side this year next week. Our for and against is not that good after all the thrashings we’ve had so we need to win games. But there’s still hope unless we lose tonight then I don’t think we will make the 4. But great effort this season considering injuries and retirements of many legends.

I'll be happy to get the win, the knights backline looks a bit weak so if we hold our own up front or better I expect us to get on top of them and hopefully Sutton doesn't seem it fit to be too influential.

Why are we hoping for a top 4 finish? Obviously a win tonight is a must, but considering the type of season we’ve had, I’d be pleased with a 5th position and getting to play 8th, and after winning week 1 e get to play the loser ( either souffs or parra) whom we should beat and that gets us to the PF. A much better scenario than running into Storm/Penrith in week 1.

At least it's not at Newcastle...or starting at 8pm.
We can win this..if we play our best footy.
Our defence needs to be a whole lot better than last game.

it's a tricky one - given we're not one of the favourites it could be better to finish in the bottom half of the draw but finishing top 4 guarantees us a second week at least in the finals ...
