I obviously didn't want it to be a forward pass, but my eyes told me that it was when I viewed the replay. I just watched it again, it is forward. Tedesco's forward momentum had stopped when he passed to Toups. Toups received the ball about 100-150cm in front of Tedesco's passing position. What annoys me is that similar passes are mostly not ruled as forward, when other teams pass them. Refereeing is so inconsistent across the board. It doesn't help that most commentators turn a blind eye to most forward passes, thus conditioning viewers to accept that forward passes that are just a little bit forward are not forward passes, similar to women that are only a little bit pregnant. The commentators even use their own code words for forward passes; line ball, flat pass, very flat pass, borderline pass.

100 percent agree with your view that those critical of us this year are crazy. I expect to see a 2021 picture of Easts in the dictionary under the definition of team spirit versus adversity.

Never. I love this season because Robbo is a hard arse mentor who is bringing some very good young blokes through who are learning how tough the NRL is. The flashiness has been toned down because of the loss of key spine players so its grinding physical footy with spurts of Teddy or Manu sparking something in attack. Hutch plays at a steady pace nothing flash but is leading the team around not to bad. JWH is playing the best footy of his career. New players coming through, its Don, its good.

I thought Teddy was best then Manu, Crichton & Hutch then the rest of the team. The Chooks never get to play comfortably there is always injuries causing players to shift positions & then others have to come in to play in those positions so it causes clunkyness but the Chooks got down & dirty putting their bodies on the line in a torrid encounter for around 65 minutes until the Chooks got control. It was a top win for the club winning in those circumstances. The spine played the entire game & then having 2 experienced players in Manu & Crichton out wide was enough to keep the forwards & the other backs going. Sitilli gets a bit of a hard time about his defence but God is he strong awkward & rangy when hes got the ball. Verrills N Butcher & Rads who are not big blokes tried their arses off, JWH was good, I thought Robbo's interchanging was spot on the team never lowered its tempo. The bench players all contributed & are sure learning about NRL. The Knights have got 4 very tough forwards Barnett, Frizell & the Safiti brothers who arent small but the Chooks forwards stood up & got the chocolates. If they bring that grit next week they will get over Parra.
An excellent review of the game and the spirit it was played in.

Only said it because of our injury list, we can’t take a trick.

would be interesting to see how many weeks our players have spent on the sidelines this year.

                        • Toops 273m, with 153 PCM. More in PCM than the Knights best total metres (Hunt - 142). Incredible. What a legend.

Smith has a mid foot injury could be similiar to Suaalii's Lisfranc injury by the sounds of it and Ikavulu a Syndesmosis (6 to 8 weeks ) - getting scans could be an issue and if surgery is required even a bigger issue- where would they get the op done ?
