Assuming he is a good prospect, why is it that often when we have players that have signed for another club we release them straight away yet when we sign a player we don’t get them until the following year? Is it that we’re just complacent and we look at who we have in the lower grades first and just wait it out until it becomes a matter of desperation?

Considering we still have some space in the cap for this year and looking at other clubs how they get replacements already, it makes me wonder why other clubs are just ‘proactive’ and we’re not.

I’d actually say it’s because we’re a well run club, you rarely see us or Melbourne with a mid season buy. You don’t need to make Hail Mary buys on a very limited section of the NRL players if you don’t need to.

Last year we went for SBW because just like this year we had injury after injury, if that wasn’t the case I doubt we go for him. Obviously I doubt Robbo and Nick would pass up on a great player if he was able to come early and we had the room to accommodate, however I’d imagine we’re very thorough with who we sign so the scrap heap pile isn’t where we browse.

What I found funny about the Rapana bump was Gutho ‘spewing deluxe’ (as Cronk would say) that Milka Sivo ‘is bleeding blah blah…’ Yeah at least he wasn’t bleeding internally… But as for Sivo, every time he doesn’t achieve what he wanted, he starts to grab his neck, his head and whatever until the ref gives them a penalty. Milka alright!
