Melon, really?

I for one have always enjoyed the gourd we know as melon. Sweet, refreshing full of colour and way too many seeds for its own good.
In this instance I think we have a bitter melon. The one that is twisted and deformed covered with hard lumpy bits. In common with the other melons it has little substance.
