  • Where’s the protests?

So Pangai jnr is heading to the Dogs next year and good luck to him, but I see he’s being signed by the Pussies for the remainder of the season, because they’ve had injuries and need back ups!!!!
fark me dead, how can they say that? Where’s all the bloody protests that happened last year when we signed SBW for the last 4 weeks of the comp?
Fark them all, fark the nrl and all those so called journos and experts.

Are the pussies the Tigers or Panthers?

There won't be any protests because the NRL's "favourites" the Roosters aren't involved. There won't be any talk of rorting the cap either. It's just the Roosters that do this according to all the know-nothing jealous supporters of other clubs ably provoked by certain press pundits.

I'm just glad we beat them when we did.

That Lewis kid has made a big difference and they're gonna be an irritating wildcard with Pangai Jr joining them IMO. Nothing to lose kinda stuff.

Disappointingly their stupidity (a complete brain snap) handed Souffs a victory over them. IMO there will be a few upsets from the Doggies moving forward though...

Seemingly the Dogs will be signing him - 3 year 2 mill deal (2022-24) but he wont be signing with the Riff for the remainder of the season according to below - by Michael Chammas

Tevita Pangai Jr won’t be at Panthers this year. Was offered to club for 2021 a couple weeks ago. It doesn’t work in the cap. They would need to move a player on. Spoken to both Panthers and TPJ’s manager. Both parties say it won’t be happening.

Aaah, our mate said 'the pussies' so I assumed he meant the dawgz. Yeah he isn't going to the Riff... although I'd support that coz I don't want the fukking Drizz to go B2B.

The way I see it... all the bottom 14 teams should pool together resources to replace our missing players. Something like:
              - Friend can be replaced by DCE (equivalent status)
              - Cords can be replace by Taumalolo (equivalent status)
              - Morris and Suaalii can be replaced by The Hammer (equivalent status)
              - Keary can be replaced by Jack Wighton (equivalent status)
              - Munster should retrospectively be suspended for 10 rounds for 3 intentional kicks on players (which the old administration missed... BTW it's assumed that Bland-Arse and Anal-Guy are out the door already)

Just a short-term loan deal to even things out... y'knowhaddimmasayan?

Looks like I went off a little premature, but I’m told there’s a nasal spray for that so hopefully it won’t happen again.

Looks like it is . The NRL must be desperate to have Penrith or parramatta win a premiership to keep the masses of the west
                  happy.

If it is not ridiculous enough that Panthers get Pangai at less than a third of the salary cap we paid for SBW ($120k vs $400k?). NRL 360 mention the money freed up in the Panthers cap is due to Cleary being injured in SOO (rather than club game).

Recall that we had a similar arrangement after Cordner was concussed in SOO, and NRL imposed a special "like for like player" condition so that we couldn't take the piss in replacing Cordner with a back. Now here are the NRL letting the Panthers take the piss in replacing Cleary with TPJ.

Even though I find the idea of players being picked up for cameo periods somewhat against the grain, I guess it's a business decision, and will happen a lot more. Smart clubs will keep some money free in their caps to buy fill in players who become available to cover injuries. I wish we had bought Lachlan Lewis on some kind of deal like this. Even though I will not knock the individual performances of Lam and Hutch, because I think they are doing their best and their ability reflects the money they are being paid, we could do with another option at 5/8th.

I havnt heard that one but I have heard that Fisher Harris is leaving the Penrith bubble to be at the birth of his child & being replaced by TPJ.
They are a top side especially with Cleary & adding TPJ could just be what they need to beat Melbourne for the Premiership.

Think you're right Ism. For mine that win was the start of much better form on theirs and the Chooks' part and last weeks win confirmed that as did their effort against the Pride. Still a way to go to Trent's "living, organic thing" mind you but this week will confirm if the signs are there with the younguns. The Knights are more cold than hot but they have a good squad.

Weren’t the Panthers asking for salary cap relief after all their players were named in origin and the their contracts would have to be upgraded?
