If ever we are going to be a top side again we need smith. The game today demands a player like him. Look at last weekend the dummy half service was not good Sammy is only young and can learn off the cheese or maybe suited to a good bench sub to have & the cheese could then play another position. This is the player we need big time. Also keep an eye on the Lomax situation at the drag queens this could play into our hands a top centre who can kick goals.

Yes, the Cheese would be an asset wherever he goes. But hooker is not our most pressing need with Verrills and Keighran (who I rate higher). Further, the Cheese would demand a pay of probably over 600k, a good chunk of salary. What we need is some size, youth and mongrel (in a good way). I'd like to see us grab TPJ and hope Robbo sets him straight. That way Sitili can move to the bench and make his hard runs at tired legs. A backup prop for JWH and Lindsay would be handy with sio dropping off and possibly leaving.

Lomax is contracted to the Dragons till the end of 2025 and is getting 500k a year. Knowing what a basket case the Dragons are i wouldn't be surprised if its top heavy last 3 years. I think he is a great centre, skill & speed and a accurate goalkicker-a player who would improve ten fold under Robbo.....however its not going to happen
I like TPJ offloads- in the right team he can be a consistent weapon....but the Tigers are talking 900k plus. Im not sure if the Roosters would even want him but i am sure they wont at that price tag!
Brandon Smith is a player i love watching. I think he would go real well interchanging with Verrills- plus he has the added bonus of being able to play any position in the forwards. It 2023 he is off contract- a lot of time to see what unfolds

TBF, given our depleted roster we're making up the numbers in the top 8. Maybe TRobbo should be checking out the true potential of his playing roster now and suss out his options should, heaven forbid we experience future injuries in the halves 2022, or if rep duties call and Keary moves to half-back.
Just my opinion but Lam and Hutch don't cut the mustard for me.

Adam K may come good but yes I don’t see a superstar either. The only real goal kicker we have though and his versatility is useful.

Lomax will get a slap on the wrist and stay put. The Drags won't let go of him and as for TPJ well both the Drags and Tigs are looking at him. Drags probably have enough momey to throw at him now since Paul Vaughan is no longer on the books and unless TPJ wants to go play for a team that will consistently play shit football (Tigs) then Dragqueens it is. TPJ won't come to the Roosters because Robbo already said that he's not our style of player and I doubt he'd want to take a pay cut to play. As for the Cheese, I love him as a player, he wears his heart on his sleeve and the thought of him and Radley running around in the same team wearing the RWB would make me very happy but I think he would be asking for too much money... like north of $600,000+ per season, which I think is too much with all the other players on the roster we have to manage moving forward.
Any cheap back up props on the market should be worth a look, I think someone like Morgan Boyle from Manly (if we can get him under $400,000). He's still young and looks to be pretty solid and his off-contract at the end of the year. I know he had a shoulder issue at the start of the year but hey, who doesn't get a few injuries here and there ? Dale Finucane and Joseph Tapine are worthwhile options but we shouldn't blow the bank $$$ to sign them, I think we've got enough young talent that we should invest in but a cheap back up option if available is not a bad idea.
Outside backs... I think we're ok.... Billy Smith and Joseph Suaalii will probably start next year with Suaalii to play right wing with manu in the centre. Smith to go to left centre (Josh Morris to perhaps retire at the end of this season). Matt Ikuvalu is still an ok gap-fill option and we've got a few young guns coming thru from ther Fijian side (Kaiviti Silktails) such as Vuate Karawalevu so probably no need to go to the market yet and to be honest, I don't think there's many decent outside backs on offer.Last edited by DP1990; 07-13-2021, 12:23 PM.

i reckon sualii will get the centre spot over billy smith. smith to wing. I would like to see karawalevu get a go next year. watched a few highlights of him in jersey flegg, looks like an absolute monster. both smith and karawalevu are goalkickers which we will be in deperate need of next year unless sammy gets under the squat rack and robbo is planning on playing keighran off the bench

I think the Chooks have the players and just need to work on the development of the youngsters without going to the market for name players - maybe pick up some cheapies for areas that lack depth
Need a full season review of all aspects of their game including pre-season training , game prep and game play.
The structured way of playing is on the demise and wont cut the mustard in the new game.
Things they need to work on is fitness, stamina, agility plus ball control, reducing handling errors and improving set completions and offloading , defence ( straight line and line speed) , kicking game, the attack (move away from structured play to play what's in front ) reducing errors and the conceding of set restarts and penalties.
