Warriors coach Nathan Brown has expressed his frustrations over the NRL’s sanctioning of players who have breached the NRL’s biosecurity bubble in the wake of the Dragons’ BBQ party at Paul Vaughan’s house.

Vaughan was sacked and handed a $50,000 fine in the wake of the party at his Shellharbour residence with the other 12 players.

Brown, meanwhile, has been without two of his starting players in Josh Curran and Euan Aitken after they were on a flight from the Gold Coast where a flight attendant tested positive for Covid-19.

Neither Aitken and Curran have been allowed to play for the Warriors since, and Brown pointed out the inconsistency in wake of the Dragons’ sanctions.

“What other players do at other clubs is not my concern,” he said in the wake of the Warriors’ loss to the Sharks.

“My biggest issue is how they decide how long they stand blokes down for.

“We’ve got two blokes in our starting side who haven’t played for two weeks because they caught an aeroplane with a hostess who was crook.

Arrow should have got a much bigger punishment when he deliberately broke the bubble.

The NRL doesn’t decide how long Aitken & Curran had to stand down for, that’s standard protocol for anyone who is considered a close contact.

Really bad luck but not really the NRL’s fault.

You dope. NRL pales in comparison in importance. The nation is concerned with beating covid-19 and if that is an inconvenience to the NRL it is simply irelevant.

If I was Nathan Brown I would seek out a new industry to work in.

absolutely he has a point you get less for putting the game at risk than incidental contact and the further investigation in to Arrow will go no where because they really don't want any more attention, they don't want the Queensland government to ask any more questions

I think the fair thing would be any player who breaches the protocols are stood down for 14 days same as a player would be if they were at a place including in this case on a plane where there was a positive case.

That would clear all this up and be fair for all players and situations. Players who knowing breach the protocols are also subject to fines

My question is if two Saints players have decided not to sign a sworn statement regarding people outside the bubble being at Party at Vaughny’s, why aren’t all 13 players involved forced to sit out 14 days mandatory isolation for COVID protocols??

11 players have signed the document stating everyone at the party were in the bubble, yet 2 players think otherwise and have decided not to sign..

So doesn’t that cast doubt over all 13 players and who is lying and telling the truth?

Surely all players must go into 14 days self isolation as too much doubt has covered the incident..
