  • Lachlan Coote

Danny Weidler has reported on Nine News that Lachlan Coote may be released from his Penriff contract to join us at the Roosters. Weidler is a grub yes, but rarely does he report inaccurate info. This has blind-sighted me but I feel he would be a VERY welcome addition to the club.

Yeah just mentioned this in the Mini thread, Coote's only 21 and superb under the high ball which our halves are obsessed with......get him in and push Mini to the wing.

If true, Coote would be a valuable signing, an astute fullback with good organizing skills from the back.

          Great if true.

Yeh I heard he was not happy at Penrith at the prospect at playing on the wing.. Word of warning, do we really need another primadonna (like Carney) who high tails it when things dont go their way??? seems that our recruitment of talented juniors is about to pay divadends.. we dont need a highly payed turncoat..

I haven't been on here for a while, does this mean Dugan is out of the picture?

no thank you, he has a well known long term groin issue, he is a ticking time bomb

if Penrith want to get rid of an outside back we should try for Gordon instead.

Yeah heard this on the news as well but does anyone know if this release is for 2012 or 2013?

Whilst i would have prefered Michael Gordon, Coote is a slick runner who knows how to score............ tries that is.
Just what we need however problem is he is one major groin injury away from retirement.

Gordon would be the reason he is leaving. Gordon is the best fullback they have got. And he's a winger! Coote seems very injury prone.

I think it is all to do with Coote & Gordon wanting the FB position.
Looks as tho Gordon has won the Cleary nod.

By all reports it looks as tho effective immediately?

Weidler is saying on twitter its not till 2013, still a dumb move, have to see what we have in Alofa Alofa,Wells,RTS before chasing an injury prone panther reject.

Geez thats a bit strong. Coote was unreal last year after Gordon (who you could argue is equally as injury prone) went down for the season
